    Abstract: A microfluidic circuit includes a detection capacitor, having a first terminal and a second terminal that are spaced apart from one another to thereby form a space therebetween. The circuit is configured to detect a droplet present in the space by detecting a change of a capacitance value of the detection capacitor caused by a change of a dielectric constant between the first terminal and the second terminal, and to drive a formation of an electrical field formed using at least one of the first terminal and the second terminal of the detection capacitor to thereby drive the droplet to move in the electrical field.

Each arm comprises one or more upper thyristor valves and one or more lower thyristor valves connected in series, and a branch extending from between the upper and lower thyristor valves. Each arm further comprises a parallel capacitor module comprising at least one parallel capacitor being connected in parallel between at least one pair of branches comprising a first branch and a second branch wherein during commutation of a flow of current in the first branch to a flow of current in the second branch, the at least one parallel capacitor is configured to discharge current in to the second branch in the same direction as the flow of current in the second branch.

    Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for implementing a framework to learn multiple drug-adverse drug reaction associations. The mechanisms receive and analyze patient electronic medical record data and adverse drug reaction data to identify co-occurrences of references to drugs with references to adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to thereby generate candidate rules specifying multiple drug-ADR relationships. The mechanisms filter the candidate rules to remove a subset of one or more rules having confounder drugs specified in the subset of one or more candidate rules, and thereby generate a filtered set of candidate rules. The mechanisms further generate a causal model based on the filtered set of candidate rules. The causal model comprises, for each ADR in a set of ADRs, a corresponding set of one or more rules, each rule specifying a combination of drugs having a causal relationship with the ADR.

Determining a set of fabrication risk assessments for an intended circuit layout pattern comprises determining fabrication risk assessments based at least in part on: simulation of the intended circuit layout pattern, statistical analysis of the intended circuit layout pattern, and evaluation of empirical data associated with a printed circuit layout pattern. A scoring formula is applied based at least in part on the sets of fabrication risk assessments to obtain a plurality of overall fabrication risk assessments for respective ones of the plurality of intended circuit layout patterns.
