  • Patent number: 9917507
Abstract: A charge pump is connected to receive a supply voltage and a clock signal and generate an output voltage. The charge pump is connected to the supply voltage through a transistor whose gate voltage is set by a regulation voltage determined by feedback from the output voltage. The current supplied to the charge pump through this transistor is mirrored in a section that generates the clock signal, where the mirrored current is used by a current controller oscillator. This allows the pump's clock frequency to linearly track the load current, improving the pump's efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9907023
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A station (STA) capable of supporting multiple power modes may monitor traffic on a channel. The STA may, based on the monitoring, detect an ongoing voice call between the STA and an access point (AP). Upon detection of the ongoing voice call, the STA may switch power modes from a power mode that does not support power collapse to a power mode that does support power collapse. The STA may also prompt the AP to send a downlink voice packet, if available. After a downlink transmission opportunity corresponding to the prompt occurs, the STA may enter power collapse. The STA may remain in power collapse until a subsequent uplink transmission opportunity occurs.

  • Publication number: 20180016991
Abstract: A method using an inverse three-way valve model with feed-forward fuel flow control is provided for controlling liquid fuel flow in a turbine power generation system to achieve a bump-less driven watts (dwatt) power output during fuel mode transitions between passive mode and active mode operations of a three-way check valve that delivers liquid fuel to the turbine combustor nozzles. The method utilizes an inverse fluid flow model for a three-way check valve which is based upon a valve position surrogate for the three-way check valve to develop a calculated estimate of a fuel spike/dwatt oscillation likely to occur during mode transitions of the three-way check valve and to produce a feed-forward control used to modulate a fuel path bypass valve within the turbine fuel supply circulation system that provides the liquid fuel to the three-way valve during transfers of valve operation between passive and active mode operations.

  • Publication number: 20170363559
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed at determining rotor deterioration in a dynamoelectric machine. Various current and voltage measurements are carried out upon an exciter assembly when the dynamoelectric machine is operated at various speeds and at various occasions over an extended period of time. More particularly, a set of current and voltage measurements that are carried out when the dynamoelectric machine is in a slow-roll mode of operation can be used for determining a resistance of a current path through which the exciter assembly provides electrical power to a rotor assembly. A time-domain-to-frequency-domain conversion can be carried out upon this set of resistance measurements in order to generate a spectral signature. The spectral signature can then be evaluated to detect an altered rotor resistance condition and/or a rotor resistance alteration trend.

  • Publication number: 20170353226
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device (e.g., an access point or a station) capable of supporting multiple chain configuration modes may monitor traffic on a wireless channel. The wireless device may, based on the monitoring, determine a series of values for a metric that is indicative of communication conditions. The metric may be a packet rate, channel congestion, or signal strength. The wireless device may dynamically select one of the supported chain configuration modes in which to operate based on the series of values for the metric. In some cases, the wireless device may compute a value for the metric based on the series of values and compare the value of the metric to a predetermined threshold. In such cases, selection of the chain configuration mode may be based on the results of the comparison. In some examples, one or metrics may be used.
