  • Publication number: 20190043701
Abstract: A magnet pack has a permeable assembly with a first cutout for a center magnet and second cutouts for peripheral magnets surrounding the center magnet. A target is attached to the permeable assembly. A heatsink is attached to the target. Emanating magnetic fields from the magnet pack progress from an inner atmospheric side to a position substantially within a vacuum cavity. The emanating magnetic fields from the center magnet are substantially stronger than the emanating magnetic fields from the peripheral magnets.

  • Publication number: 20190036910
Abstract: In a machine-to-machine/Internet-of-things environment, end-to-end authentication of devices separated by multiple hops is achieved via direct or delegated/intermediated negotiations using pre-provisioned hop-by-hop credentials, uniquely generated hop-by-hop credentials, and-or public key certificates, whereby remote resources and services may be discovered via single-hop communications, and then secure communications with the remote resources may be established using secure protocols appropriate to the resources and services and capabilities of end devices, and communication thereafter conducted directly without the overhead or risks engendered hop-by-hop translation.

  • Patent number: 10182753
Abstract: A blood sampling device useful for collecting a blood sample from a separate vascular access device is described herein. The blood sampling device includes a body shaped and sized for partial insertion into a separate vascular access device. The body includes a reservoir defined within the body, which has an internal volume sufficient to contain enough blood for use in a diagnostic blood test. The body also includes a gas permeable vent disposed on the body, in which the gas permeable vent is in gaseous communication with the reservoir. When connected to a separate vascular access device the blood sampling device collects a blood sample as blood flows into the reservoir from the separate vascular access device and as gases pass out the reservoir via the gas permeable vent.

  • Publication number: 20190020360
Abstract: A method is shown that is operable to transform and align a plurality of fields from an input to an output data stream using a multilayer butterfly or inverse butterfly network. Many transformations are possible with such a network which may include separate control of each multiplexer. This invention supports a limited set of multiplexer control signals, which enables a similarly limited set of data transformations. This limited capability is offset by the reduced complexity of the multiplexor control circuits.

  • Publication number: 20190014615
Abstract: Multicast messaging may be managed in a machine-to-machine/Internet of things context, such as a CoAP network, via the inclusion of server selection criterion in multicast request messages and/or resource directory registration management. Server selection criteria may be explicit or implicit. An explicit criterion may be expressed, for example, as an IP address, a server identifier relative to a group context, or a Bloom filter. An implicit criterion may, for example, relate to the context of the request or the requestor, and include such information as data accuracy, data type, application, operating system, network location, geolocation, resource creation time, and resource update time. Server selection criteria may be maintained by a resource directory and/or via a user interface.

  • Publication number: 20190007928
Abstract: CoAP network nodes may leverage context awareness to take autonomous action to adjust network operations. Context-aware procedures may be pre-configured, established by management entities, or negotiated between nodes, and include parameters for the monitoring and evaluation of data, as well has triggers for taking action. By monitoring requests to observe a resource, a node may determine when a resource should transition to multicast or unicast notification, and dynamically manage multicast group membership based on observation registrations and/or cancellations. By monitoring resource requests, a proxy may determine when to proactively refresh a cached representation of a resource. By monitoring timeouts and/or retransmissions, a client may dynamically adjust a timeout value to optimize communications.

  • Patent number: 10162641
Abstract: This invention addresses implements a range of interesting technologies into a single block. Each DSP CPU has a streaming engine. The streaming engines include: a SE to L2 interface that can request 512 bits/cycle from L2; a loose binding between SE and L2 interface, to allow a single stream to peak at 1024 bits/cycle; one-way coherence where the SE sees all earlier writes cached in system, but not writes that occur after stream opens; full protection against single-bit data errors within its internal storage via single-bit parity with semi-automatic restart on parity error.

  • Patent number: 10157632
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to data storage devices, and more specifically, to a magnetic media drive employing a magnetic recording head. The head includes a main pole, a heavy metal structure surrounding at least a portion of the main pole at a media facing surface (MFS), and two magnetic structures sandwiching the heavy metal structure. Spin-orbit torque (SOT) is generated from the heavy metal structure, inducing magnetization switching (or precession) in the magnetic structures. The SOT reduces the magnetic flux shunting from the main pole to the trailing shield, and the magnetization switching sharpens the write field profile in the cross-track direction. The SOT based head with the magnetic structures sandwiching the heavy metal structure increases both track density (tracks per inch) and linear density (bit per inch), which in turn increases the areal density capability (ADC), which is the product of tracks per inch and bit per inch.

  • Publication number: 20180358025
Abstract: To represent and recover the constituent sources present in an audio mixture, informed source separation techniques are used. In particular, a universal spectral model (USM) is used to obtain a sparse time activation matrix for an individual audio source in the audio mixture. The indices of non-zero groups in the time activation matrix are encoded as the side information into a bitstream. The non-zero coefficients of the time activation matrix may also be encoded into the bitstream. At the decoder side, when the coefficients of the time activation matrix are included in the bitstream, the matrix can be decoded from the bitstream. Otherwise, the time activation matrix can be estimated from the audio mixture, the non-zero indices included in the bitstream, and the USM model. Given the time activation matrix, the constituent audio sources can be recovered based on the audio mixture and the USM model.

  • Publication number: 20180359322
Abstract: A service, such as an internet of things service, may have multiple service elements. Each service element may be provided by multiple devices or virtual devices (service element hosts). A service/service element can be managed as a resource at the sendee layer. Service with multiple service elements is supported. Based on a QoS requirement from a client, service element host selection may use the necessary context information to make the decision of selecting a service element host. A client may choose to send the QoS requirement to the sendee host, which in turn forwards it to service element host selection.
