Abstract: Described are cancer therapies and anti-cancer compounds. In particular, disclosed are inhibitors of Ack1 tyrosine kinase and their use in the treatment of cancer. Methods of screening for new Ack1 tyrosine kinase inhibitors are also disclosed. In specific example, compound having Formula I through IV are disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to throttle resource access by web crawlers. An example method disclosed herein includes obtaining, at a server, a media request message for media hosted by the server, the media request message requesting access to the media, characterizing a media-requesting source associated with the media request message, and inserting a time delay in a media response message to the media-requesting source based on the characterization.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing media files are described. In one embodiment, one or more events are captured having associated event data and associated with a client device, wherein each event is associated with an article and at least one of the articles is a media file, wherein at least one of the events is captured in real time upon the occurrence of the event, at least some of the event data and articles associated with the events are indexed and stored, a search query is received, and the at least one media file is determined as relevant to the search query.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a user profile and for using the user profile to order search results returned by a search engine. The user profile is based on search queries submitted by a user, the user's specific interaction with the documents identified by the search engine and personal information provided by the user. Terms for the user profile may be selected from the documents accessed by the user by performing paragraph sampling or context analysis. Generic scores associated with the search results are modulated by the user profile to measure their relevance to a user's preference and interest. The search results are re-ordered accordingly so that the most relevant results appear on the top of the list. User profiles can be created and/or stored on the client side or server side of a client-server network environment.

Abstract: A reaction product and hot melt adhesive compositions that include the reaction product are disclosed. The reaction product includes the reaction product of a first polymer that includes at least one of polypropylene homopolymer and polypropylene-alpha-olefin copolymer, a first wax that includes at least one of polyethylene wax, Fischer Tropsch wax and paraffin wax, and a free radical initiator and has a viscosity of no greater than 12,000 centipoise at 177° C.

Abstract: Described herein are inhibitors of Aurora kinase and their use in the treatment of cancer. Methods of screening for selective inhibitors of Aurora kinases are also disclosed.

Abstract: A load for traveling microwave energy has an absorptive volume defined by cylindrical body enclosed by a first end cap and a second end cap. The first end cap has an aperture for the passage of an input waveguide with a rotating part that is coupled to a reflective mirror. The inner surfaces of the absorptive volume consist of a resistive material or are coated with a coating which absorbs a fraction of incident RF energy, and the remainder of the RF energy reflects. The angle of the reflector and end caps is selected such that reflected RF energy dissipates an increasing percentage of the remaining RF energy at each reflection, and the reflected RF energy which returns to the rotating mirror is directed to the back surface of the rotating reflector, and is not coupled to the input waveguide. Additionally, the reflector may have a surface which generates a more uniform power distribution function axially and laterally, to increase the power handling capability of the RF load.

Abstract: A content item is updated in response to advancing capabilities of a client. A local content item received from a server is stored. The local content item has characteristics customized based on prior capabilities of the client. A determination is made regarding whether current capabilities of the client exceed characteristics of the local content item customized based on the prior capabilities of the client. Responsive to determining that the current capabilities of the client exceed the characteristics of the local content item, an updated content item having characteristics customized based on the current capabilities of the client is requested from the server. The updated content item is stored as an updated local content item.

An example headset includes an adjustment assembly including a first support to be disposed on a first side of a head of a person and a second support to be disposed on a second side of the head of the person. The example headset also includes an adjustor operatively coupled to the first support. Further, the example headset includes an electrode strip and a tension strap having a first end operatively coupled to the adjustor and a second end operatively coupled to the second support.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system, method, and program product to reduce merge conflicts in an integrated development environment. The present invention includes a computer that receives computer code that includes a plurality of line edits authored by a plurality of developers and development activity information associated with the computer code describing the nature of the plurality of line edits. The computer displays in real-time the computer code in a manner that includes distinguishing the plurality of line edits based the development activity information. Furthermore, the computer dictates an editing activity of the computer code based on the development activity information. Furthermore, the present invention executes within an integrated development environment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for eliminating duplicate events are described. In one embodiment, an event is captured, wherein the event comprises a user interaction with an article on a client device and it is determined whether the event is a duplicate of a stored event.

Abstract: A periodic permanent magnet (PPM) klystron has beam transport structures and RF cavity structures, each of which has permanent magnets placed substantially equidistant from a beam tunnel formed about the central axis, and which are also outside the extent of a cooling chamber. The RF cavity sections also have permanent magnets which are placed substantially equidistant from the beam tunnel, but which include an RF cavity coupling to the beam tunnel for enhancement of RF carried by an electron beam in the beam tunnel.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying a named entity are described. In one described system, a computer program, such as a query system, identifies an event associated with an article, identifies a named entity within the event, and creates an implicit search query comprising the named entity.

Abstract: Compounds and associated methods for inhibiting a protein tyrosine phosphatase. By a combination of experimental and virtual screenings of the NCI Diversity Set chemical library, NSC-87877 and NSC-117199 have been identified as Shp2 PTP inhibitors. Significantly, NSC-87877 is active in cell-based assays and has no detectable off-target effects in the EGF-stimulated Erk 1/2 activation pathway. Additionally, a number of analogs of NSC-117199 have been produced. These analogs exhibit enhanced protein tyrosine phosphatase inhibition and are found to be potent and/or selective inhibitors of Shp1 and/or Shp2 protein tyrosine phosphatases.

Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are described for eliminating duplicate events. In accordance with some implementations, a computer-implemented system is provided which includes a computer-readable storage medium that stores program code and a processor that executes the program code. The operations performed by the processor may include capturing an event comprising a user interaction with an article stored in association with a client device and determining a level of similarity between the event and a stored event. The operations performed by the processor may also include determining if the event is a duplicate of the stored event based at least in part on the level of similarity between the event and the stored event and indexing the event on the client device dependent on the determination of whether or not the event is a duplicate of the stored event.

Abstract: Systems and methods that improve client-side searching are described. In one aspect, a system and method for identifying an article, and determining a ranking score for the article based at least in part on duration data, access data, URL data, or trajectory data associated with the article is described.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring video games are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein to identify a video game include generating a memory signature based on a pattern of memory locations of a game medium accessed by a device to play the video game. Such example methods also include determining an identity of the video game based on the memory signature.

Abstract: Methods, associated algorithms, and systems for determining cardiac and/or cardiovascular performance from three measurements on a subject are presented, where two of the measurements are provided by plethysmographs and one measurement is provided by an electrocardiogram. The two plethysmographs are placed different distances from the subject's heart. Certain embodiments use the three measurements to calculate intermediate variables of a left ventricular ejection time and a pre-ejection period.
