  • Publication number: 20150022075
Abstract: This invention relates to dielectric barrier discharges devices. More particularly, it relates to dielectric barrier discharge apparatus which employ a dielectric barrier disposed within the discharge gap between spaced apart electrodes to generate a plasma when subjected to pulsed high voltages. The dielectric barrier material has a high thermal conductivity and is held in physical contact with a heat sink which aids in dissipation of thermal energy released in formation of the plasma.

  • Patent number: 8927911
Abstract: A bus bar system includes a non-conductive substrate having a major surface. At least one conductive bus bar is formed over at least a portion of the major surface. A conductive coating is formed over at least a portion of the bus bar and the major surface. An electrically conductive adhesive, such as an isotropically conductive tape or film, is applied over at least a portion of the film/bus bar junction. The system can optionally include a conductive metallic foil adhered to the isotropically conductive adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20140294197
Abstract: A method of distinguishing sound sources includes the step of transforming data, collected by at least two transducers which each react to a characteristic of an acoustic wave, into signals for each transducer location. The transducers are separated by a distance of less than about 70 mm or greater than about 90 mm. The signals are separated into a plurality of frequency bands for each transducer location. For each band a comparison is made of the relationship of the magnitudes of the signals for the transducer locations with a threshold value. A relative gain change is caused between those frequency bands whose magnitude relationship falls on one side of the threshold value and those frequency bands whose magnitude relationship falls on the other side of the threshold value. As such, sound sources are discriminated from each other based on their distance from the transducers.

  • Publication number: 20140241847
Abstract: A produce package comprises a bag and a quantity of fresh, unfrozen produce. The bag comprises a handle for carrying the bag, a base opposite the handle for supporting the bag on a surface when the bag is full, and at least one sidewall distinct from the base and extending between the base and the handle. The base and the at least one sidewall cooperate to form an interior volume of the bag and the produce is disposed within the interior volume of the bag. At least a portion of the bag is transparent for viewing the produce. Such produce packages may form part of a produce display comprising a plurality of the produce packages arranged in a single layer on a display surface with each produce package in an upright position in which the handle of the bag is at an upper end of the produce package.

  • Publication number: 20140079261
Abstract: A hearing assistance device includes two transducers which react to a characteristic of an acoustic wave to capture data representative of the characteristic. The device is arranged so that each transducers is located adjacent a respective ear of a person wearing the device. A signal processor processes the data to provide relatively more emphasis of data representing a first sound source the person is facing over data representing a second sound source the person is not facing. At least one speaker utilizes the data to reproduce sounds to the person. An active noise reduction system provides a signal to the speaker for reducing an amount of ambient acoustic noise in the vicinity of the person that is heard by the person.
