  • Publication number: 20130206784
Abstract: A container comprises a base and a container sidewall extending from one side of the base about a perimeter thereof to define an interior volume of the container. Opposed outward protrusions are formed in the container sidewall adjacent and spaced from the distal edge thereof. Opposed receiving slots are defined through the container sidewall for receiving and retaining T-shaped handle ends, with the receiving slots being at least partly defined in the outward protrusions. The outward protrusions each form a cavity recessed from the inside surface of the container sidewall to accommodate the T-shaped handle ends and limit protrusion thereof beyond the inside surface of the container sidewall to limit damage to the container contents caused by contact of the T-shaped handle ends with the container contents.

  • Patent number: 8229125
Abstract: An audio reproduction system substantially fits the dynamic range of recorded and broadcast music (or other type of audio content) into a desired output dynamic range, bounded by the available dynamic range of the listening environment. In some scenarios the output dynamic range may be defined as a function of the ambient noise level present in the environment and the maximum output capabilities of audio system. A listener may adjust the desired prominence of the program with a user control, with foreground (louder and more dynamic) as one extreme and background (quieter and less dynamic) as the other extreme. A control to adjust prominence, when used to provide background reproduction, may reduce the average volume of a reproduced signal and fit the input signal dynamic range into a suitably smaller but desired output signal dynamic range.

  • Publication number: 20100326998
Abstract: A container and lid assembly includes a container and a lid. The container has bottom and a container sidewall extending generally upwardly from the bottom about a perimeter thereof. The container sidewall has an upper edge structure defining an inwardly inclined, inwardly facing lid engagement surface. The lid has a top and a lid sidewall depending from the top about a perimeter thereof. The lid sidewall has an upturned lower edge structure defining an outwardly extending lid shoulder and an inwardly inclined, outwardly facing container engagement surface. The lower edge structure of the lid sidewall corresponds in size and shape to the upper edge structure of the container sidewall, and the lid is securable to the container by an interference fit with the lid engagement surface engaging the container engagement surface about the respective perimeters of the container and the lid.

  • Publication number: 20100131975
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for providing supplemental content during a broadcast. The supplemental content is provided by the operation of a interactive application resident on a receiver. The interactive application is initiated through a trigger that is received during a otherwise standard broadcast. The trigger includes an interactive prompt that is to be displayed during a particular portion of the broadcast. The prompt including a means for enabling receipt of a user input. The user input may be a request for further information.

  • Publication number: 20090262969
Abstract: A hearing assistance device includes two transducers which react to a characteristic of an acoustic wave to capture data representative of the characteristic. The device is arranged so that each transducers is located adjacent a respective ear of a person wearing the device. A signal processor processes the data to provide relatively more emphasis of data representing a first sound source the person is facing over data representing a second sound source the person is not facing. At least one speaker utilizes the data to reproduce sounds to the person. An active noise reduction system provides a signal to the speaker for reducing an amount of ambient acoustic noise in the vicinity of the person that is heard by the person.
