  • Patent number: 5499513
Abstract: A merchandiser for merchandising refrigerated food products comprised as a support structure having two ends, refrigerated merchandising shelves spanning between the ends of the support structure, and a refrigerator for refrigerating product located on the refrigerated merchandising shelves. Each shelf is individually supplied with refrigerated air from the refrigerator. The merchandiser is placed adjacent checkout aisle with one end of the merchandiser abutting an end of the checkout counter, and preferably the express lane checkout counter. Refrigerated food products are thereby accessible and removable from the refrigerated merchandising shelves of the merchandiser from either side of the merchandiser as customers pass down the aisles to the express lane checkout stations.

  • Patent number: 5490600
Abstract: A cooler display rack for use in a walk-in refrigerated cooler consists of a series of L-shaped frame sections formed from generally upright posts secured at their bottom end by an elongated shoe to form the individual frame sections. The frame sections are joined to adjacent frame sections by spacer panels and by a plurality of shelves supported in a cantilevered manner between a pair of adjacent posts. The individual shelves are supported between the posts by shelf support brackets and can be selectively positioned vertically along the height of the post, horizontally forward and backward relative to the post, and angularly with a gravity feed inclination between an approximate 8.degree. forward slope and approximate 1.degree. back slope. Bumper wires are inserted through holes in the shelves at the front edge thereof for retaining merchandise contained on the shelves. In one embodiment, a gravity feed shelf includes selectively positionable dividers attached on a slip surface layer of the shelf.

  • Patent number: 5458407
Abstract: A merchandising display including a housing enclosing a product display compartment having at least two adjacent columns of circularly shaped shelves rotatably mounted within the display compartment. When viewed in top plan view, the housing includes a front side having two doors which angle rearwardly to two outwardly curved side walls which are connected by a generally flat rear wall. The columns of circular shelves are disposed within the product compartment so as to be closely adjacent each other as well as the inner concavely shaped surfaces of the side walls. This creates a central air circulation path in the rear of the product compartment defined between the columns of circular shelves and the rear wall. A partition is secured to the rear wall at this central location and includes a plurality of apertures for directing cooled air from the air circulation path to the products on the shelves.

  • Patent number: 5450968
Abstract: A gravity feed merchandising display system includes a plurality of adjustable and variable width channels to support and organize variously sized merchandise items thereon. The channels are formed by a pair of adjacent slats which extend between a front crossbar and a rear crossbar in the shelving system. Each crossbar includes a plurality of spaced slots to which a tab projecting from each slat can be engaged and disengaged. By adjusting the width between adjacent slats, various sized merchandise items can be supported and displayed in a gravity feed configuration on a shelf of this system. As a result, a retailer has added versatility in designing a merchandising display system and more efficient use of available shelf space.

  • Patent number: 5379905
Abstract: A combination tray is used for the transportation, storage, and gravity feed dispensing of beverage bottles. The tray includes flaps pivotally mounted on a top edge of each side wall for converting the tray between a storage and transportation configuration and a gravity feed dispensing configuration. When in the storage and transportation configuration, the flaps are generally perpendicular to the side walls and have a number of arcuate recesses to position and stabilize the bottles in the tray in an upright position. A bottom surface of each tray has a number of bottle cap receiving sockets. When the bottles are positioned with the arcuate recesses of the flaps, filled trays can be stacked one upon another so that the bottle caps of a subjacent tray are received within the sockets in the base of a superjacent tray thereby creating a stable stack of filled trays.

  • Patent number: 5277486
Abstract: A method and apparatus for merchandising product by gravity feeding that product to the front of a rotatable shelf. The product is supported upon a shelf which is in turn supported from a low friction support for rotation about an axis slightly tilted relative to a vertical plane with the shelf slightly tilted relative to a horizontal plane. The orientation of the shelf is such that the low point of the shelf is at the front of the shelf so that when displayed product is removed from the front of the shelf, the center of gravity of the shelf shifts and the weight of the product remaining on the shelf causes the shelf to rotate so as to relocate new product to the front of the shelf.

  • Patent number: 5205421
Abstract: A gondola display rack for merchandising product comprises a base having a top surface, at least one upright extending vertically from the rear of the base, and at least one shelf removably secured to the upright. Shelf supporting bracket means attach the shelf to the upright and include means for adjustment wherein the shelf may be positioned substantially horizontally or angled downwardly and forwardly, yet without any gap between the rear edge of the shelf and the upright as is typically experienced. The base includes adjustment means which allow the base top surface to be positioned substantially horizontally or angled downwardly and forwardly and which allows the depth of the base to be varied. The base further includes second adjustment means which allow the upright to be adjusted angularly with respect to the base.

In one embodiment, the refrigerator is located in a lowermost position and is of the chest-type, while the shelves are located in an uppermost position and comprise a plurality of display rack shelves. In another embodiment, the refrigerator is located in an uppermost position and is of the gravity feed dispenser type, while the shelves are located in a lowermost position.
