  • Patent number: 12132559
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide for passive beamforming for Wi-Fi. A first wireless device communicating in an active session via a first bandwidth with a second wireless device may use a passive beamforming technique to identify a transmission sector of the second wireless device and/or a receive sector for communications on a second bandwidth, while the first wireless device is in an inactive session state for the second bandwidth. The second wireless device may transmit beacons in the second bandwidth via directional transmission sectors while the first wireless device is in the inactive session state for the second bandwidth. The first wireless device may receive the beacons and may select a transmission sector based on the beacons. The first wireless device may indicate the selected transmission sector to the second wireless device. The first wireless device may select a receive sector based on the beacons.

Abstract: A method for performing opportunistic write-back discard of single-use vector register values. The method includes executing instructions of a GPU in a default mode, detecting a beginning of a single-use section that includes instructions that produce single-use vector register values, and executing instructions in a single-use mode. The method includes discarding the write-back of a single-use vector register value if the single-use value gets forwarded either via a bypass path or via register file cache. The method includes inserting hint instructions into an executable program code that demarcates single-use sections. A system includes a microprocessor to execute instructions in the default mode. The microprocessor detects a beginning and an ending of a single-use section that includes instructions that produce single-use vector register values.

  • Patent number: 12051267
Abstract: A method may involve obtaining a latent fingerprint on a surface, storing the latent fingerprint, obtaining a live fingerprint on the surface, and authenticating the live fingerprint based in part on the stored latent fingerprint and in part on previously-authenticated fingerprint data. The method may involve rejecting authentication of the live fingerprint as a potential spoof, if the live fingerprint matches the latent fingerprint under a relatively strict correlation test. The method may also involve, when the live fingerprint doesn't closely match the latent fingerprint, granting authentication of the live fingerprint if the live fingerprint matches the previously-authenticated fingerprint data under a relatively loose correlation test.
