  • Publication number: 20170206516
Abstract: A system provides for a self-checkout terminal with various components. A receiver receives shopping data including prices of items that a customer has physically acquired or placed in a cart. A payment logic receives credential information associated with a monetary account for paying for the items. A message logic creates checkout data that includes data representing the collection of purchase items. A transmitter transmits the credential information to an account network for authentication and the receiver receives a response indicating if the monetary account is valid. The payment logic/self-checkout terminal indicates to the customer that a payment using the monetary account for the purchase items is authorized or not. When authorized, an authorization is received at the self-checkout terminal before the customer arrives at the terminal and the self-checkout terminal causes a payment transaction to be executed to provide for self-checkout using the monetary account without assistance by another person.

  • Patent number: 9650418
Abstract: Embodiments of this invention include synthetic compounds (NRP analogs) of peptides termed neural regeneration peptides (NRPs). NRP analogs are made by substituting amino acids in the native peptide sequence, modifying amino acids chemically, by replacing amino acids with synthetic moieties, by stabilizing ?-turns, acetylation of terminal glycine residues or by cyclization. NRP analogs can be used to treat a variety of conditions involving degeneration of neural cells, and includes treating disorders of the nervous system, including peripheral neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, neurotoxin-induced neurodegeneration, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

  • Patent number: 9380170
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for creating cellular network performance indicators by correlating business data of subscribers with a geographic position. In use, one or more subscriber measurement reports associated with an authenticated cellular network subscriber identifier are received. Additionally, the one or more subscriber measurement reports are geo-location tagged with a geographic position estimate. Further, business data associated with the authenticated cellular network subscriber identifier is received. Moreover, the received business data is associated with the one or more corresponding subscriber measurement reports, based on the authenticated cellular network subscriber identifier, such that the business data is associated with the geographic position estimate to create one or more performance indicators.

  • Publication number: 20160134105
Abstract: There is provided an integration of the leakage current functions of an RCD and the voltage sensing functions of other prior art protection devices. By integrating the two capabilities into one decision making system/algorithm, and considering the circuits performance in terms of leakage current as it correlated with elevated protective earth voltages (and vice versa), an embodiment is created which is able to “look into” a protected electrical system and make much more precise and discerning decisions on electrical status and probability of unsafe events. The resultant technology attends to the outstanding issues with the prior art technologies as they stand, and provides a protection solution that covers the entire range of electrical power wiring configurations and the practical complexities of modern electrical works.

  • Publication number: 20150214718
Abstract: An electrical protection device for an electrical load includes a pair of input terminals and for respectively electrically connecting to an active conductor and a neutral conductor of an electrical power source. A pair of output terminals and electrically connects to load. A first monitoring unit is responsive to the load current flowing in conductors and for selectively generating a first fault signal. A second monitoring unit selectively generates a second fault signal. A protection unit operates in a normal state to electrically connect terminals and to terminals and respectively to allow the load current to flow from source to load via device. The unit is responsive to either of the first fault signal and the second fault signal for operating in a protected state to electrically isolate terminals and from terminals and, and prevent the flow of the load current.
