  • Publication number: 20130013354
Abstract: This invention relates to an electronic means by which people can select the exact seat or seats they want for any type of event or reserve an appointment for any activity. More specifically, a customer or a ticket re-seller or a venue operator can go, for example, to the internet and select the event or activity for which he wants a ticket or tickets or reserve a time and reserve and order the exact seat or seats or the time of his choosing directly online. The seat or seats or reserved time he selects is then removed from the inventory for that activity or event and made not available for any other buyer and such is so indicated by a graphical representation or other such indicator on the online map or picture representing availability of seating or time for that event.

  • Patent number: 8296916
Abstract: A method for enabling removal and replacement of a failed actuator module of a brake assembly that includes multiple actuators (27) for compressing a brake disk stack (12), wherein the failed actuator has failed in an extended position applying compressive force to the brake disk stack and at least one of the other actuators remains operative. The method comprises the steps of causing one or more of the operative actuators to apply to the brake disk stack a compressive force greater than the compressive force exerted by the failed actuator whereby the reactionary force acting on the failed actuator will be reduced, and removing the failed actuator after the reactionary load on the failed actuator has been reduced.

  • Publication number: 20120132092
Abstract: A printing form precursor comprises a printing surface which comprises an inorganic metal compound, the printing surface being hydrophobic and capable of being made hydrophilic by energy but capable of becoming hydrophobic again, for reuse, if desired. An associated method of printing includes steps of subjecting the printing surface imagewise to energy so as to locally increase its hydrophilicity sufficient to make the surface differentiated in its acceptance of an oxophilic a printing ink; applying the ink to the printing surface and printing from the printing surface; causing or allowing the printing surface to undergo a reduction in hydrophilicity sufficient again to make the printing surface uniform in its acceptance of a printing ink; and,if wished, repeating these steps on multiple occasions. Thus the invention achieves the goal of providing a printing form precursor which does not need a chemical developer, and which can be used multiple times, to print different images.

  • Patent number: 8158571
Abstract: A particle (preferably a core-shell encapsulate) comprising a benefit agent (preferably a perfume), said particle being bound to a non-cationic deposition aid which is substantive to polyester, wherein the non-cationic deposition aid is a polymer derivable from dicarboxylic acids and polyols. Preferably the polymer comprises units derived from (poly)ethylene glycol and terephthalate, most preferably selected from the group comprising PET/POET, PEG/POET, PET/PEG and phthalate/glycerol/ethylene glycol polymers. The invention also provides a method for producing improved benefit agent particles which comprises the step of covalently linking or co-polymerising a deposition aid which is substantive to polyester to a particle comprises the benefit agent.

  • Publication number: 20120088201
Abstract: A combustor nozzle includes a nozzle body that defines a cavity. An orifice in the nozzle body provides fluid communication from the cavity through the nozzle body. A movable barrier proximate to the orifice has a first position in which the movable barrier at least partially obstructs the orifice. A method for supplying fuel to a combustor includes flowing fuel through an orifice in a nozzle, determining a reactivity of the fuel, and adjusting an effective cross sectional area of the orifice based on the reactivity of the fuel.

  • Publication number: 20110249152
Abstract: The invention concerns correcting an error in an estimated pose of a moveable camera. The camera is at least a part of a camera system that generates an output image on the basis of the camera pose. Incremental pose measurements for the camera are taken over time and a pose of the camera using the incremental pose measurements is estimated, the estimated camera pose having an error. A pose correction is determined on the basis of the difference between an absolute pose measurement for the camera and the estimated camera pose. A rate of change in the camera image caused by a change in the camera is monitored. A parameter of the camera system is periodically adjusted based on the incremental pose measurements. The adjustment is further set in order to effect the pose correction so as to correct for the estimated camera pose error and the pose correction is effected at a rate based on the monitored rate of change in the camera image.

  • Publication number: 20110099203
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and systems for cross domain discovery. According to the disclosure, an object can include multiple entities defined by an originator. The multiple entities have different scopes corresponding to different access restrictions. Further, the originator defines keywords for each of the multiple entities. A system for cross domain discovery stores the multiple entities in an object service component, and stores the keywords and access restrictions in a search service component. The search service component conducts a search based on the keywords and access restrictions in response to a search request from a user. An entity is provided to the user based on the user's credential and the searching.
