Publication number: 20170256271Abstract: Systems and methods facilitating removal of content from audio files are described. A method includes identifying a sound recording in a first audio file, identifying a reference file having at least a defined level of similarity to the sound recording, and processing the first audio file to remove the sound recording and generate a second audio file. In some embodiments, winner-take-all coding and Hough transforms are employed for determining alignment and rate adjustment of the reference file in the first audio file. After alignment, the reference file is filtered in the frequency domain to increase similarity between the reference file and the sound recording. The frequency domain representation (FR) of the filtered version is subtracted from the FR first audio and the result converted to a time representation of the second audio file. In some embodiments, spectral subtraction is also performed to generate a further improved second audio file.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 19, 2017Publication date: September 7, 2017Inventors: Richard Francis Lyon, Ron Weiss, Thomas Chadwick Walters

Patent number: 9756021Abstract: A method for transmitting an encrypted message from a messaging server (106) to a handset (104) comprising the steps of receiving, at the messaging server (106) and from a sender computer (102), a message to be sent to the handset (104) and a handset identifier associated with the handset and determining that the handset is not registered with the messaging server (106) by determining that the handset identifier does not have an associated handset encryption key stored at the messaging server. The handset (104) is registered by sending a notification to the handset requesting registration, receiving back a handset encryption key associated with the handset identifier; and storing the handset encryption key against the handset identifier at the messaging server which is to be used to encrypt the received message before sending. Prior to registering the handset (104), intermediate encryption of the message may be employed to create an intermediate encrypted message to be stored at the messaging server.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2012Date of Patent: September 5, 2017Assignee: Soprano Design LimitedInventor: Richard Francis Favero

Patent number: 9735753Abstract: A magnetically-coupled structure is integrated with an integrated circuit in back end-of-line (BEOL) digital CMOS fabrication processes. A differential primary (or secondary) coil is formed by patterning a thick copper (Cu) metal layer, and a single-ended secondary (or primary) coil is formed by patterning a thick aluminum (Al) top metal bonding layer. Crossovers and/or cross-unders are formed using thin metal layers. One embodiment provides a stacked balun with a differential primary input winding defined in the copper layer, directly underneath a single-ended spiral winding defined in the aluminum layer. The spiral forms the single-ended secondary output of the balun and is rotated by 90° to prevent metal shorting for its cross-under connections. Another embodiment provides a transformer with one differential primary (or secondary) coil defined in the copper layer and another differential secondary (or primary) coil defined in the aluminum layer and adding a center tap.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2016Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Siraj Akhtar, Richard Francis Taylor, Petteri Litmanen

Patent number: 9682201Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for creating a negative bias pressure within a liquid reservoir. Embodiments may include providing a liquid reservoir coupled with an aerosol generator. The liquid reservoir may be sealed to create the sealed reservoir. An ambient pressure may be maintained while the liquid reservoir is being sealed and the ambient pressure may be maintained in the sealed liquid reservoir until a portion of the liquid is dispensed. Further, embodiments may include vibrating the aperture plate to dispense the portion of the liquid. The portion of the liquid dispensed may decreases the amount of the liquid in the sealed reservoir. By decreasing the amount of liquid in the sealed reservoir, a negative bias pressure between an air side and a liquid side of the aperture plate may be created.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2015Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: Nektar TherapeuticsInventors: David Mark Blakey, Richard Francis Day

Patent number: 9596419Abstract: An example image system may include a lens that produces an image, an image sensor, an image stabilizer, and a controller. This image sensor has a first edge and an opposite second edge. The first edge is placed closer to lens such that it focuses on more distant objects. The image stabilizer provides a time-varying compensation of image motion at the image sensor. The controller operates the image capture system in a repeating cycle where the sensor exposes and reads out an image progressively from one edge to the opposite edge. The controller operates the image stabilizer to provide an image motion compensation that varies in time such that the image motion compensation is greater when exposing and reading the second edge of the sensor than when exposing and reading the first edge of the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2015Date of Patent: March 14, 2017Assignee: Google Inc.Inventor: Richard Francis Lyon

Patent number: 9471673Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein relating to audio matching. Interest points that are onsets are generally very efficient in audio matching in that they are robust to multiple types of distortion. Prominent onsets can be detected within an audio signal excerpt as interest points and combined as a function of a set of interest points to form a descriptor. Descriptors associated with an audio signal excerpt that contain a set of prominent onsets as interest points can be used in matching the audio signal excerpt to an audio reference. The benefits in generating and using prominent onsets within descriptors improve the accuracy of an audio matching system.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2012Date of Patent: October 18, 2016Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Matthew Sharifi, Richard Francis Lyon

Publication number: 20160165073Abstract: Apparatus and methods coordinate imaging in a fleet of disparate imaging devices. Each imaging device is associated to a unique identifier. Imaging volumes are gathered for each device in advance of a user walkthrough past the fleet. The volumes are averaged over a predetermined time period and displayed to the user during their walkthrough on a handheld computing device. A confidence factor is included so the user can ascertain reliability of the volume averages. The handheld computing device provides the user real-time knowledge of the fleet to better coordinate managed print services, for example. The handheld computing device is also configured to receive partial data from the user and in response provide selectable options corresponding to an identity of the imaging devices as standardized by third party reference data, for instance. Embodiments typify user interfaces, user actions, data, and computing applications, to name a few.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2014Publication date: June 9, 2016Inventors: Billy Brian Boone, Richard Francis Russell
