  • Patent number: 9276056
Abstract: A magnetically-coupled structure is integrated with an integrated circuit in back end-of-line (BEOL) digital CMOS fabrication processes. A differential primary (or secondary) coil is formed by patterning a thick copper (Cu) metal layer, and a single-ended secondary (or primary) coil is formed by patterning a thick aluminum (Al) top metal bonding layer. Crossovers and/or cross-unders are formed using thin metal layers. One embodiment provides a stacked balun with a differential primary input winding defined in the copper layer, directly underneath a single-ended spiral winding defined in the aluminum layer. The spiral forms the single-ended secondary output of the balun and is rotated by 90° to prevent metal shorting for its cross-under connections. Another embodiment provides a transformer with one differential primary (or secondary) coil defined in the copper layer and another differential secondary (or primary) coil defined in the aluminum layer and adding a center tap.

  • Publication number: 20160055758
Abstract: The instant application describes a method for delivering to a user a biometric display containing a graphic representation of the user that communicates health related information about the user. The method includes steps of receiving via a communication network information associated with physical characteristics of the user and health related information associated with the user and generating a biometric display of the user based on the received physical characteristics associated with the user. The biometric display represents a virtual persona of the user tailored toward the received physical characteristics associated with the user. The method also includes steps of generating health parameters based on the received health related information associated with the user and associating the health parameters with their respective body parts on the biometric display. The health parameters communicate to the user health related information regarding their respective body part on the biometric display.

  • Publication number: 20160041807
Abstract: Systems and techniques for removing a sound recording from an audio recording (e.g., an audio recording embedded in a media file) are presented. The system can include an identification component, a first subtraction component and a second subtraction component. The identification component identifies a sound recording in a mixed audio recording. The first subtraction component determines a local linear transformation of the sound recording and subtracts the local linear transformation of the sound recording from the mixed audio recording to generate a new mixed audio recording. The second subtraction component compares one or more segments of the sound recording with one or more corresponding segments of the new mixed audio recording and reduces a power level of the new mixed audio recording based at least in part on correlation of the one or more corresponding segments with the one or more segments.

  • Patent number: 9158842
Abstract: Sound representations and winner-take-all codes of auditory spectra are used in the identification of audio content. A transformation component converts a set of sound frames from audio content into a set of spectral slices. A spectral encoder component encodes the spectral slices of auditory spectra into winner-take-all codes with a winner-take-all hash function. An identification component identifies which spectral dimension of a subset of spectral dimensions within a spectral slice has highest spectral value according to the winner-take-all codes. Reference audio content is determined to be similar or matching to the audio content based on the winner-take-all codes.

  • Publication number: 20150283336
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for creating a negative bias pressure within a liquid reservoir. Embodiments may include providing a liquid reservoir coupled with an aerosol generator. The liquid reservoir may be sealed to create the sealed reservoir. An ambient pressure may be maintained while the liquid reservoir is being sealed and the ambient pressure may be maintained in the sealed liquid reservoir until a portion of the liquid is dispensed. Further, embodiments may include vibrating the aperture plate to dispense the portion of the liquid. The portion of the liquid dispensed may decreases the amount of the liquid in the sealed reservoir. By decreasing the amount of liquid in the sealed reservoir, a negative bias pressure between an air side and a liquid side of the aperture plate may be created.
