  • Publication number: 20150252725
Abstract: A power generation process for use in a processing unit that includes the steps of: using a regenerator to produce a flue gas stream; removing catalyst particles from the flue gas stream; routing the flue gas stream to a combustor/expander unit after performing the step of removing catalyst particles; and using rotation of the turbine of the combustor/expander unit as a source of rotary power. Preferably, the combustor/expander unit includes a combustion chamber and a power recovery turbine housed within a single casing. In certain embodiments, the flue gas stream is routed between the regenerator and the combustor/expander without passing through a compressor.

  • Publication number: 20150156177
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitates secure communication between a sending device and a receiving device. During operation, the system receives, at the receiving device, a benign message sent over a communication channel from the sending device. Next, the system computes a digest from the benign message by hashing the benign message. The system then queries a cover message server with the computed digest to determine whether the benign message indicates that an encrypted message is available at a secure message server. Subsequently, the system obtains the encrypted message from the secure message server, responsive to determining that the benign message indicates that the encrypted message is available at the secure message server.

  • Publication number: 20150107484
Abstract: This invention relates to devices that enable a user to view a perspective view on a camera mounted to a model railroad train. Previously, the camera carrier wave of the camera was corrupted by inconsistent power going to the camera and interference from a model railroad engine, which is part of the model railroad train. The present invention uses a power supply circuit (14) and battery with battery management circuit to remedy the inconsistent power problem by removing spikes and gaps in power. A high gain antenna (31) remedies the interference problem by greatly increasing the reception of the camera carrier wave of the camera. Further, a battery management circuit can ensure that consistent power is provided to both the camera and the model railroad engine.

  • Publication number: 20150099057
Abstract: A composition of matter may be effective for repelling spray and condensation of aerosol moisture, such as breath, from a desired surface, such as a mirror. The composition of matter may include a hydrophobic admixture of one or more of at least one terpene, at least one alcohol, at least one ester and at least one wax. The admixture containing the at least one terpene, the at least one alcohol, and the at least one ester combined with the at least one wax may be used to produce a hard coating on the desired surface. Polishing the hard coating may further enhance the water repulsion efficacy of the coating.

  • Publication number: 20150090636
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for cracking a hydrocarbon. The method includes contacting a hydrocarbon feed stream with a cracking catalyst at cracking conditions to produce a reactor effluent and a spent catalyst. The spent catalyst is transferred to a regenerator, where it is regenerated by contact with an oxygen supply gas at regeneration conditions to produce a regenerated catalyst.

  • Patent number: 8953041
Abstract: An Engineer's View (EV) wireless video system for powered and unpowered model railroad engines is disclosed. The invention uses commercially available wireless spy cameras, powered by a custom power supply circuit which is compatible with either DC or DCC track systems. The present invention is compatible with all commercial model railroad gauge diesel engines including HO and N Gauge or may be factory installed. The EV system demonstrates a remarkably stable and realistic image of a model railroad layout. Moreover, the present invention may also provide a stable source of power to the engine where stalling could occur at points of track defects.

  • Patent number: 8936671
Abstract: An aircraft has a ventilation system that employs a plurality of nozzles positioned in a cavity between a sidewall of the aircraft cabin and a section of the aircraft fuselage. The nozzles receive a supply of ventilation air and direct jets of air from the nozzles, through the cavity and into the aircraft cabin. The jets of air produced by the nozzles create low-pressure areas in the cavity. At least one return air opening in the cabin sidewall communicates the low-pressure areas with the cabin interior, whereby the low pressure areas draw air from the cabin interior into the cavity where the drawn air is entrained with the jets of air produced by the nozzles. Devices inside the cavity remove suspended impurities from the air drawn into the cavity. In this manner, the ventilation system filters or sanitizes the air drawn through the system.

  • Patent number: 8918896
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitates secure communication between a sending device and a receiving device. During operation, the system first transmits an encrypted message to a secure message server, wherein the encrypted message is addressed to the receiving device. The system then generates a cover message which indicates that the encrypted message is available for the receiving device. The system then transmits a digest of the cover message to a cover message server and makes the cover message available for the receiving device, thereby allowing the receiving device to confirm with the cover message server whether the cover message indicates availability of the encrypted message for the receiving device, and allowing the receiving device to obtain the encrypted message from the secure message server.
