  • Patent number: 8857825
Abstract: An ice fish house base has at least two skis, each coupled through at least two pivotal arms to an ice house base. The pivotal arms are pivotal between an elevated position and a lowered minimum position. The lowered position is stable when the ice house base comes into solid contact with the ground, thereby limiting maximum rotation in this ice-house-base-lowered position. In the upward position, a rotational pivotal arm stop prevents the pivotal arms from rotating further, so that the separation between ice house base and skis is just less than maximum. The weight of the ice house will also hold the ice house base at this fully rotated position. A quick attach receiver is provided for a bifurcated ice auger mount and several alternative accessory supports. In addition, several alternative trailer hitch couplers are disclosed that use a tensioning strap for securement.

  • Publication number: 20140304508
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed permitting a sender to send a secret and secure message to a recipient. An application on a sender device interfaces with known message generating tools to permit a user to generate a message. The local application encrypts the message (and optional attachments) based on public/private key pairing negotiated with the server given the recipient device id. The sender device transmits the cipher text to the server. The server generates a benign, text-based, context-appropriate message and delivers same to a recipient device by way of a known messaging service. The benign message provides a secret clue to the recipient that an encrypted message is available. Recipient may then access and decrypt the encrypted message, such as from the server in response to a successful challenge (e.g., password request).

  • Patent number: 8845978
Abstract: A detection kit comprises a plurality of swabs, each of the plurality of swabs having the form of a stick, being bundled together in a single test kit for detection of a plurality of chemical compounds. A user opens a detection kit, swabs a surface or surfaces with the bundled sticks, collecting chemical constituents to be tested on detection surfaces of each of the plurality of sticks. Liquids, mists, vapors and powders may be tested in one method, utilizing one or more dry reagents on the detection surfaces. The sticks may comprise a volume of fluid, releasably contained within the sticks, such that when activated, a fluid, such as a reagent or solvent, is wicked by a wicking tip to the detection surface of the stick. For example, a mechanism is provided that is capable of breaking a vial or ampoule containing the fluid, when activated by a twisting motion or compression. Adhesive may be present on one or more of the detection surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20140275496
Abstract: Among other aspects, the present disclosure provides methods for preparing enriched compositions of plasma-derived Factor H from fractions formed during the manufacturing processes of established plasma-derived therapeutic compositions. Specifically, methods are provided for the isolation of Factor H from Fraction precipitates commonly discarded during the manufacture of commercial IgG therapeutics. Advantageously, the Factor H compositions prepared according to these methods have improved proteolytic profiles and reduced amidolytic activity.

  • Publication number: 20140255922
Abstract: Polymorphic cotton DNA loci useful for genotyping between at least two varieties of cotton. Sequences of the loci are useful for providing the basis for designing primers and probe oligonucleotides for detecting polymorphisms in cotton DNA. Polymorphisms are useful for genotyping applications in cotton. The polymorphic markers are useful to establish marker/trait associations, e.g. in linkage disequilibrium mapping and association studies, positional cloning and transgenic applications, marker-aided breeding and marker-assisted selection, hybrid prediction and identity by descent studies. The polymorphic markers are also useful in mapping libraries of DNA clones, e.g. for cotton QTLs and genes linked to polymorphisms.

  • Patent number: 8820009
Abstract: A liquid storage tank has a tower section. A tank shell above the tower section encompasses a tank volume that has a capacity of at least 100,000 U.S. gallons. A reinforced ringbeam at the top of the tower section surrounds an internal area that withstands the downward force of the liquid. The ringbeam has at least one supporting face that resists downward forces. A dome sits on the supporting face and essentially covers the internal area. The dome is made of a series of laterally adjacent dome where each dome segment has an inner end that is positioned above an outer end.
