  • Patent number: 10119214
Abstract: A process of forming a non-woven web including spinning continuous polymeric filaments including one selected from a poly(phenylene ether) component, a poly(phenylene ether)-polysiloxane block copolymer, and combinations thereof. The filaments can have a length to diameter ratio that is more than 1,000,000, and a diameter ranging from 50 nanometers to 5 microns. The spinning can include passing a polymer through a spinneret having a plurality of orifices in a non-electrospinning environment. The process can further include chopping the plurality of continuous filaments and obtaining a plurality of chopped nano-fibers and forming the nano-fibers into a nonwoven web. The spinning can be conducted at a rate of at least 300 grams/hour/spinneret.

  • Patent number: 10029707
Abstract: A baffle comprising a panel body that is mountable on a wall of a hopper adjacent to an edge of an outlet of a hopper and is arrangeable in a projecting position, to project in a generally downwardly direction beyond the edge of the outlet so as to restrict the spread of bulk commodities past the panel body as the bulk commodities discharge through the outlet. The panel body is arrangeable in the projected position to project in a generally downwardly direction beyond the edge of the outlet and between a gap space defined by the edge of the outlet and an outlet cover arranged in an open position. The baffle may comprise rotatable mounting means for rotatably mounting the panel body on the wall of the hopper such that the panel body is movable between the projected position and a retracted position, where the panel body is arranged so as to provide a minimal or no barrier effect. The baffle may comprise drive means to drive the panel body between the projected position and the extended position.

  • Publication number: 20180157896
Abstract: This invention creates numerous enrollment reference images so that when an individual presents himself to a biometric sensor, the individual's live image is compared to numerous reference images allowing to establish a very high matching threshold score and at least one reference image to surpass the matching threshold for an individual in the file. Since the acceptance threshold is set high, the chances that a false accept are significantly reduced. In our system, by selecting numerous different photographs of the enrolled candidate, there's a greater possibility of a very high score match to the live scan. As you increase the number of biometric photos, you increase the probability of the live scan achieving a high match against one of those photos. This could be visualized as a shotgun distribution on a graph; if the live scan is the person in a reference file, that shotgun distribution will place higher compared to someone that doesn't match the biometric.

  • Patent number: 9666707
Abstract: An anneal of a gate recess prior to formation of a gate contact, such as a Schottky contact, may reduce gate leakage and/or provide a high quality gate contact in a semiconductor device, such as a transistor. The use of an encapsulation layer during the anneal may further reduce damage to the semiconductor in the gate recess of the transistor. The anneal may be provided, for example, by an anneal of ohmic contacts of the device. Thus, high quality gate and ohmic contacts may be provided with reduced degradation of the gate region that may result from providing a recessed gate structure as a result of etch damage in forming the recess.
