    Abstract: A system and method for testing a control system is disclosed. The control system includes a field device located in one area and a controller located in a different area. A mobile application running on a mobile computing device is used by a technician to test the control system. Because both the mobile computing device and the controller are coupled to a cloud computing system, the technician may interface with the controller while located at the field device. This remote access to the controller allows a single technician to test the control system by interfacing with the controller and the field device simultaneously. In addition, the mobile application may retrieve data from the cloud computing system to facilitate testing and may transmit test results to the cloud for storage. Others having access to the stored results may view the progress and results of the testing.

    Abstract: The present invention is concerned with pre-magnetizing a Modular Multilevel power Converters connected transformer in order to moderate inrush currents upon connecting the transformer to an electric grid. The invention takes advantage of the high amount of stored energy in MMC converters as compared to other converter types. This stored energy is used to pre-magnetize the converter-connected transformer, therefore no additional or dedicated pre-magnetizing hardware is required in addition to the charging hardware provided to charge the converter capacitors. As the transformer pre-magnetizing takes place subsequent to the converter charging, the converter charging circuit is not used to, and therefore does not need to be designed to, directly magnetize the transformer.

Upon ascertaining that dynamically generated code is to be executed, a processing circuit and/or operating system kernel restrict the dynamically generated code to use a first memory region within an unprotected memory space, where the first memory region is distinct (e.g., reserved) from other memory regions used by other processes executed by the processing circuit. A first processing stack is maintained for the dynamically generated code within the first memory region. This first processing stack is separate from a general processing stack used by other processes executed by the processing circuit. A stack pointer is switched/pointed to the first processing stack when the dynamically generated code is executed and the stack pointer is switched/pointed to the general processing stack when the dynamically generated code ends.
