  • Publication number: 20110209188
Abstract: A method of ordering the delivery of a media stream to a client terminal coupled to an IP network is described. The method comprises identifying, at a user terminal (e.g. a mobile device), destination address information for the client terminal. The user terminal is authenticated to an application server of an IP Multimedia Subsystem network, and the destination address information is sent from the user terminal to the application server. The media stream is then sent to the client terminal. This enables the media to be delivered to the client terminal on the basis of the authentication of the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 7944880
Abstract: A method and arrangement for establishing a packet-switched multimedia session for a mobile terminal connected to a mobile access network. A first Radio Access Bearer RAB is obtained, and the multimedia session is started by communicating media over the first RAB. Simultaneously with the media communication, a quality of communicated media is monitored and evaluated. If the monitored quality is deemed unacceptable, a media-adapted second RAB is obtained, and the session is continued over the second RAB. Thereby, it is not necessary to delay the communication of media by waiting for the second RAB to be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7873346
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangements for determining charging related to a data bit transfer session from a traffic source (209) to a client (213), said bit transfer session involving bit transfer over a wireless communications link (214f) under the control of a radio resource managing unit (204). According to the method of the present invention the radio resource managing unit (204) sends information regarding the bandwidth on the wireless link that the bit transfer session currently is allowed to use to a charging logic (212). This bandwidth information from the radio resource managing unit (204) is used by the charging logic (212) to determine the charging related to the bit transfer session. Thereby a fair charging of the session may be achieved, which is adapted to the quality of service actually obtained by the end-user for the session.

  • Patent number: 7817554
Abstract: Quality of Service parameters are changed to adapt a transmission to varying transmission capacity demands. During an ongoing communication session, at least one client terminal utilizes services provided via a network node, and initial quality of service parameters are used. In the process of responding to a content request originating from the client terminal, it is determined if a delivery of the response to the content request would benefit from a modification of quality of service parameters. If the modification is determined to be beneficiary, a modification 520 of quality of service parameters for use in the response to the content request is initiated.

  • Patent number: 7746819
Abstract: A policy controlled bearer service for delivery of a service from an application function (to a mobile terminal is set up. A terminal identity of the mobile terminal may be used to bind to applicable policy information when setting up the bearer service. This obviates the need to transmit specific binding information to the mobile terminal during application layer signaling for the purpose of policy controlled bearer service set-up. The terminal identity is registered in a register of a policy decision function along with policy identifying information. When a bearer service activation request is received from the mobile terminal the request is mapped to applicable policy information by means of the terminal identity and the matching registration in the register of the policy decision function.

  • Publication number: 20100135279
Abstract: A method and arrangement for remotely controlling the communication of media between devices in different local networks (200, 202) using a remote control device (200b). The remote control device obtains discovery information on a first device (200c) and sends a remote access request over a multimedia service network to a home multimedia gateway (202b) in the opposite local network (202) for a connection to a second device (202c) therein. The home multimedia gateway then responds with communication parameters established for the second device in a residential gateway, and the remote control device can then order the first device to execute a multimedia session with the second device by using said communication parameters. This solution enables a remote control device visiting a local network to order a device in that network to fetch media content from a device in another home network, or vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20100070636
Abstract: A method and arrangement for enabling access to a home device in a private network from a remote device located outside the private network. The private network includes a multimedia gateway connected to a multimedia service network. A session invite message is sent from the remote device to the multimedia gateway. In response, connection parameters of a residential gateway in the private network are sent to the remote device, which are associated with the selected home device if a home device identification was included in the received message, or with a proxy function in the multimedia gateway capable of providing home device information, if no such identification was included in the received message. In this way, home devices in the private network can be easily and safely accessed remotely.

  • Publication number: 20090281907
Abstract: A method and arrangement for purchasing streamed media as executed in a communication terminal operated by a user when receiving a media stream containing various media objects as data packets from a streaming server. In response to receiving user input for the purchase of a currently played wanted media object, a purchase request is sent to the streaming server. In response to the purchase request, a download enabler is received containing information leading to the wanted media object. The wanted media object is then downloaded based on the received download enabler.

  • Patent number: 7509496
Abstract: In a communication system (1), a header comprising information, preferably being related with a device-type associated commitment, is additionally provided with a signature for that information. The signature guarantees the authenticity of the header information. The signature is tamper-resistantly created in a first device (20), preferably based on at least tamper-resistant device-type specific information of the first device (20). The header information and the signature are communicated to a content provider (10), where the signature is verified before accepting the device-type associated commitment to be valid. Such signatures can preferably be used in systems using HTTP or SMTP.
