  • Publication number: 20070032101
Abstract: Enclosed re-programmable non-volatile memory cards include at least two sets of electrical contacts to which the internal memory is connected. The two sets of contacts have different patterns, preferably in accordance with two different contact standards such as a memory card standard and that of the Universal Serial Bus (USB). One memory card standard that can be followed is that of the Secure Digital (SD) card. The cards can thus be used with different hosts that are compatible with one set of contacts but not the other. A sleeve that is moveable by hand may be included to expose the set of contacts being used.

  • Publication number: 20070016704
Abstract: A peripheral card having a Personal Computer (“PC”) card form factor and removably coupled externally to a host system is further partitioned into a mother card portion and a daughter card portion. The daughter card is removably coupled to the mother card. In the preferred embodiment, a low cost flash “floppy” is accomplished with the daughter card containing only flash EEPROM chips and being controlled by a memory controller residing on the mother card. Other aspects of the invention includes a comprehensive controller on the mother card able to control a predefined set of peripherals on daughter cards connectable to the mother card; relocation of some host resident hardware to the mother card to allow for a minimal host system; a mother card that can accommodate multiple daughter cards; daughter cards that also operates directly with hosts having embedded controllers; daughter cards carrying encoded data and information for decoding it; and daughter cards with security features.

  • Publication number: 20060270485
Abstract: A golf club comprising a clubhead with a sole profile shaped in an inverted peak roof, the clubhead having a line of centers of percussion which intersects the sole at the peak and which runs through the centroid of the clubface. The line of centers of percussion is marked on the clubface replacing the conventional icon so as to provide a visual indication to the golfer of the points of impact on the clubface from sole to crown which produce minimal shaft twisting upon contact with the ball. Upon contact with the ground, the clubhead presents a single point of contact located on the line of centers of percussion and shaft twisting due to ground contact is also minimized.

  • Publication number: 20060264109
Abstract: Very small non-volatile memory cards are modified to include a connector to which a connector on a separate data input-output card electrically and mechanically mates when pushed together. The input-output card transfers data directly between an external device and the non-volatile memory, without having to go through the host to which the memory card is connected. The input-output card communicates with the external device through a wired or a wireless communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20060262584
Abstract: A very small computer memory card is densely packed with a large number of flash EEPROM integrated circuit chips. A computer memory system provides for the ability to removably connect one or more of such cards with a common controller circuit that interfaces between the memory cards and a standard computer system bus. Alternately, each card can be provided with the necessary controller circuitry and thus is connectable directly to the computer system bus. An electronic system is described for a memory system and its controller within a single memory card. In a preferred physical arrangement, the cards utilize a main circuit board with a plurality of sub-boards attached thereto on both sides, each sub-board carrying several integrated circuit chips.

  • Publication number: 20060202034
Abstract: Electronic systems, such as automobile radios, portable and other computing devices, and global positioning system receivers, often require that a correct security code be inputted from a small memory card that is removably inserted into a card slot of the system before the system is rendered operable in total or in part, or before certain data can be retrieved. The same type of memory card is also used to store digital data that is utilized by the system in conjunction with its function that is enabled by the security code, such data cards being removably inserted into the same card slot as the card containing the security code. Alternately, both the utilization data and the security code are included on a single card. An example application is an automobile radio wherein data supplied by the second card are of music that is reproduced through the radio's audio system.

  • Publication number: 20060180915
Abstract: A small package is provided for a flash EEPROM memory. The small package uses terminals which are part of a bottom conductive layer of a circuit board. In this manner, the final package can be quite thin. The circuit board can be connected to the integrated circuits and passive devices and can be encapsulated in plastic or glued to a plastic cover. In this manner, a thin and relatively inexpensive package can be formed. Additionally, the circuit board can have testing connections which can be removed before forming the final package.

  • Patent number: 7075331
Abstract: A programmable logic device (PLD) in a microprocessor system is programmed with minimal load on system resources. A microprocessor reads programming data from a first memory using a parallel bussed interface and writes the programming data to a programming hardware assist engine using the parallel bussed interface. The programming hardware assist engine directs a portion of the programming data to a specified serial interface signal, and outputs a serial bit stream from the programming hardware assist engine to a serial programming interface of the PLD using the specified serial interface signal.

  • Publication number: 20060136557
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for clustering and communicating between Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) entities are disclosed. According to one aspect, an IMS cluster node includes a serving call state control function (S-CSCF) for controlling media sessions between IMS users. The cluster node further includes a home subscriber service (HSS) function for storing and providing IMS subscription information to the S-CSCF function. A shared memory is operatively associated with the S-CSCF function and the HSS function. The S-CSCF function obtains IMS subscription information from the HSS function via the shared memory.

  • Publication number: 20060129731
Abstract: A method for connecting an externally accessible shared serial port to one of a plurality of target serial ports is provided. The target serial ports are associated with a plurality of different application cards within a shelf assembly. The method includes receiving, from an external device connected to an externally accessible shared serial port, a request for a connection between the externally accessible shared serial port and one of a plurality of target serial ports within a shelf assembly associated with a plurality of different application cards, and determining whether shelf resources are available to connect the externally accessible shared serial port to the requested target serial port. In response to determining that shelf resources are available, the externally accessible shared serial port is connected to the requested target serial port.

  • Patent number: 7025010
Abstract: A product-on-demand delivery system applies an agricultural product, such as seed, to a field. The system includes a frame that mounts a main hopper, a splitter fitting, a primary product hose, a secondary product hose, a primary application unit and a secondary application unit. The main hopper has an air nozzle wherein an air stream through the air nozzle entrains product within the air stream and delivers the air/product to the primary outlet hose. The splitter fitting has a splitter inlet flow-connected to the primary product hose and two splitter outlets flow-connected to the application units. The secondary application unit is coupled to the primary product supply hose by the secondary product hose connected at an outlet branch. The outlet branch is connected at an angle such that a product flow velocity vector in the primary product supply hose at the outlet branch is at an obtuse angle to a flow velocity vector of product flowing through the outlet branch.

  • Publication number: 20060026348
Abstract: A flash memory card structure with an external contact structure according to a published standard, such as the USB standard, also includes a second data transmission path, such as a wireless one. A removable cap fits over the card to cover the external contacts when they are not being used as a memory data path. One of two or more different caps may be selected to be placed on the card in order to control operation of the second data transmission path, such as to select the distance of wireless transmission from one of two or more pre-set distances. Power to operate the memory card through the second path, when not connected to a host, may also be provided through the external contacts by including a battery in the caps.

  • Publication number: 20060015806
Abstract: A networked spreadsheet template designer allows administrators to easily create and deploy robust reporting and input applications that leverage existing spreadsheet templates and knowledge in an easy to use user interface. Templates are created to operate directly in the particular spreadsheet program environment, such as Microsoft Excel®, and can be created using existing templates and modeling workbooks of that spreadsheet program without the need for any code to be written. A library of dynamic link library (DLL) worksheet functions makes creation of templates a faster, simpler task. The template designer uses these DLL worksheet functions directly on template worksheets to perform specified actions. The DLL functions enable a user to create an interactive, custom application by automating/encapsulating complex tasks.
