  • Publication number: 20070124125
Abstract: A method is provided for creating or evolving a virtual environment with a computer system. Steps of the method include: forming a plurality of layers of data, including a first layer and a second layer, each layer including a plurality of cells containing data corresponding to a variable; operating on the data from the cells in the first layer with a function to yield target data; distributing the target data to corresponding cells in the second layer; and altering the data in at least one of the plurality of cells in each layer according to a rule.

  • Publication number: 20070023554
Abstract: An improved free swinging hammer mill hammer design is disclosed and described for comminution of materials such as grain and refuse. The hammer design of the present art is adaptable to most hammer mill or grinders having free swinging systems. The improved hammermill hammer may incorporate multiple comminution edges for increased comminution efficiencies. The improved hammermill hammer may incorporate multiple comminution edges for having increased hardness for longer operational run times. The design as disclosed and claimed may be forged to increase the strength of the hammer. The shape of the hammer body may be varied, as disclosed and claimed, to improve the hammer strength reduce or maintain the weight of the hammer while increasing the amount of force delivered to the material to be comminuted. The improved design may also incorporate comminution edges having increased hardness for longer operational run times.

  • Patent number: 7170363
Abstract: Microstructure materials which can be tuned to a particular range of r.f. frequencies to display particular magnetic permeabilities have been proposed. A typical material is made of an array of capacitive elements e.g. spirals or rolls of conducting material on a non-conducting substrate. These materials can be used as a guide which is effective for the particular band of frequencies to which it is tuned. In one example, the rolls (2a to 2c) guide magnetic flux along ducts (1, 2, 3) while rolls (4a, 5a) guide magnetic flux along ducts (4, 5). Flux can thus be guided upwardly along duct (2), along ducts (4 and 5), and down ducts (1, 3), or vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20060275808
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for the assessment of diseases that result from the combined or interactive effects of two or more genetic variants, and in particular for diagnosing risk of developing such diseases in subjects using an analysis of genetic polymorphisms. Methods for the derivation of a net score indicative of a subject's risk of developing a disease are provided.

  • Publication number: 20060271463
Abstract: A computer program that can be installed on a web server to assemble web pages that can be accessed over the Internet by password to prepare financial planning reports for a client. The program takes gross income, subtracts income taxes, subtracts all money put into savings programs, and whatever is left is what the client spends in a given year or month. It further itemizes and subtracts the monthly payments for debt service since these items will be fully amortized or paid off at some point in the future and should not be included in baseline living expenses that will continue through a person's lifetime. The balance left after these calculations are completed represents the individual's current annual living expenses or standard of living that needs to be sustained throughout their lifetime with adjustments for inflation.

  • Publication number: 20060248987
Abstract: A surgical ratchet assembly includes a handle, a driver, a ratcheting mechanism and a locking mechanism. The driver is received within the handle in a rotatable relationship with respect thereto. The ratcheting mechanism is interposed between the handle and the driver. Unlocking of the locking mechanism enables ready disassembly of the assembly for cleaning and component sterilization. A superelastic biasing means is used. The cap reverser further prevents rotation beyond the depressions therein.
