Publication number: 20100315816Abstract: A light reflector is disclosed for use in a photographic ring light diffuser. The light reflector consists of a substantially circular body including an outer wall having an opening therein for the provision of a light source, an inner wall provided substantially about a substantially circular aperture at or adjacent the centre of the rear panel. The inner surfaces of the body are substantially reflective, thereby reflecting light from the light source uniformly at an angle substantially coaxial with the aperture. Also disclosed is an adapter for coupling a light source with the light reflector, and a ring light diffuser including the same.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2008Publication date: December 16, 2010Applicant: ENLIGHT PHOTO LTDInventor: Robin James Edward Madelin

Patent number: 7808287Abstract: A circuit for deriving an output clock signal from an input clock signal, the output clock signal having a frequency which is 1/Nth of the frequency of the input clock signal, where N is an odd number. The circuit comprises a plurality of latches configured as a latch ring, the latches being arranged in successive pairs, each pair of latches comprising a first latch that switches on one of the rising or falling edge of the input clock signal, and a second latch that switches on the other of the rising or falling edge of the input clock signal. An RS flip flop is coupled to receive at one of its set and reset inputs an output from the latch ring that is switched on a rising edge, and at the other of the set and reset inputs an output from the latch ring that is switched on a falling edge. Said output clock signal is provided at an output of the RS flip flop.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2007Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: Future Waves UK LimitedInventor: Robin James Miller

Patent number: 7803633Abstract: A screening device for performing an immunoassay test to detect the presence of a compound in a body fluid. The device includes a holder for removably receiving a membrane to which the fluid has been applied. Light is directed to the membrane. A photodetector measures the concentration of the light reflected back from the membrane. Specifically, the concentrations of reflected light from a control zone and a test zone are measured. Signals representative of the measured light concentrations are applied to a processor. If a specified concentration of predetermined light from a control zone on the membrane is detected, the processor considers the test to be successful. In the test is successful, the processor, based upon the measured concentration of reflected light from the test zone, generates data representative of the presence of the compound.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2008Date of Patent: September 28, 2010Assignee: Cozart Bioscience LimitedInventors: Robin James Spivey, Christopher William Hand, Dene Baldwin, Osborn Pierce Jones

Publication number: 20090040222Abstract: An application binary interface includes a descriptor specifying a binary shader for each pass of a multi-pass shader. The application binary interface also includes a graphics state of a graphics object for each pass of the multi-pass shader. The graphics state for the first pass is an initial graphics state of the graphics object. The graphics state for each subsequent pass specifies a change from the graphics state of a previous pass. The application binary interface further includes parameters for the binary shaders. The application binary interface links the binary shaders together based on the parameters. Further, the parameters of the binary shaders may be modified at run time to configure the multi-pass shader. The binary shader of each pass is then executed based on the graphics state and parameters of the pass to render the graphics object.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2008Publication date: February 12, 2009Inventors: Robin James Green, Axel Mamode, Roy Tadashi Hashimoto

Publication number: 20010034068Abstract: Immunoassay tests or agglutination tests run on samples of bodily fluid to detect the presence of particular compounds such as drugs in the body may be screened in the screening device. A test membrane is inserted into the screening device and illuminated. The reflected image is detected and the digitized data processed. For immunoassay tests, the digitized data is segmented and data for the test region is compared to that from the control region and the background regions to determine whether the test data exhibits any significant results. For agglutination tests, the digitized data is processed to determine the number and size of the areas of coagulation to determine whether the test data exhibits any significant results.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2001Publication date: October 25, 2001Inventors: Robin James Spivey, Christopher William Hand, Dene Baldwin, Osborn Pierce Jones

Patent number: 4001065Abstract: A process of wrapping a substrate to insulate or protect it, wherein a tape comprising a cross-linked copolymer derived from an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon and a carboxylic acid ester having ethylenic unsaturation is wrapped around the substrate, and subsequently shrunk. Although the tape is cross-linked, it nevertheless fuses sufficiently to bond to itself to form an integral structure. The substrate can if desired be removed, the tape serving as the inner layer to a hose.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1975Date of Patent: January 4, 1977Assignee: Raychem CorporationInventors: Richard John Penneck, Robin James Thomas Clabburn
