  • Patent number: 8915744
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system used for competency assessment of candidates. More particularly the present invention relates to an automated system for talent acquisition in an enterprise to identify talented candidates who meet the qualification standards specified by enterprise using a secured and light weight method of providing content including questions and responses in a distributed architecture. The data center server of the system may connect to Knowledge center server to receive the secure test content. The test content is transferred to one or more exam center servers from the data center server. The exam center servers assess the competency of candidates connected to them via candidate console devices (computational devices), by generating unique and standardized test content for each candidate. The system enables less effort, time and consequently money, that multiple test administrators may spend traveling to different test locations to support the system infrastructure.

  • Publication number: 20140186812
Abstract: Systems and methods for secured computer based assessment are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises capturing of proctoring data at a candidate assessment device from a candidate at predefined time intervals during an examination. The proctoring data includes biometric data, still image, and surround sound associated with the at least one candidate. The proctoring data captured at the candidate assessment device is then transmitted to a central assessment server connected to the candidate assessment device. At the central assessment server, the proctoring data is compared with registration data, of the candidate, stored in the central assessment server. Based on the comparison, malpractice by the candidate during the examination is determined when the proctoring data deviates from the registration data.

  • Publication number: 20140165019
Abstract: Computer implemented techniques are disclosed for fixing signal hold-time violations in semiconductor chips. Analysis includes estimation of hold-time requirements using ideal clocks. Allocation of placement regions within the design and near the macro circuits allows for later placement and wiring use during layout hold-time fixing. The placement region sizes are based on estimates of the needed buffers. Nets, within the design for detail routing, are ordered such that nets with hold-time violations are wired later, thus fixing hold-time violations without scaling or adding further buffers. Hold times are re-evaluated once wiring of track routes is complete.

  • Patent number: 8700557
Abstract: A computer-based system and method to improve the multimodal fusion output at the decision level is disclosed. The method proposes computation of a confidence weighted measure for the individual score values obtained for each modality and fuse these new updated scores to get the final decision. These confidence weights are the performance parameters (measured in terms of F-measure) during the offline training step. The process significantly increases the accuracy of the multimodal system.

  • Publication number: 20140101691
Abstract: A method and system for tracking of objects in a video is disclosed. The method of the present invention enables user to indicate a boundary-box to the identified object of interest in the broadcast video on television or any other communication media. The object indicted in the boundary-box is than tracked by the users connected in a social community network in the upcoming video frames of the broadcasted video. The tracked object is then tagged by the users in the social community network. Further, the present invention enables augmentation of the tracked object in the video by extracting additional information from the online service providers. The augmentation and tagging of the object generates metadata related to the object. The metadata generated is stored on a server to track the object in future based on the metadata related to the object.

  • Publication number: 20140085665
Abstract: An inkjet printer is placed in communications with a print production planning and scheduling system to allow planning, monitoring, and adjusting of an automatic digital (ink jet) printing production line. In one embodiment, the order of the print jobs is defined by the print shop owner or by the associated supervisor. Each job becomes a paper based (printed) job ticket and the order in which the jobs arrive at the print operator side defines the print order. The same is true for the order at the RIP side. Any change in regards to this order requires a direct communication of the print shop owner or supervisor with the printer or RIP operator.

  • Patent number: 8570881
Abstract: A technique for characterizing a communications interface includes determining a voltage margin and a timing margin of the interface based on data sampled by a sampling device of a receiver of the interface. In at least one embodiment of the invention, a method for determining margin associated with a receiver circuit of an integrated circuit includes periodically sampling a signal over a time period by a receiver sampling circuit of the receiver circuit to generate a sampled version of the signal. The method includes incrementally varying a value of the parameter associated with the signal. The varying of the parameter is through a range of values of the parameter over the time period. The method includes determining a margin value of the receiver circuit associated with the parameter based, at least in part, on the sampled version of the signal.

  • Patent number: 8503597
Abstract: A method and mechanism for reducing lock time of a dual-path phase lock loop (PLL). The PLL comprises a dual-path low-pass filter (LPF). The LPF includes a first filter and a second filter. The first filter comprises a passive second-order lead-lag low-pass filter. The second filter comprises a first-order lag low-pass filter. During a lock-acquisition state, an impedance value within the second stage is bypassed, which increases the loop bandwidth of the PLL. In addition, a resistance within the first stage is increased in order to increase the gain of the first stage and maintain stability within the PLL. During a lock state, the impedance value may no longer be bypassed and the increased resistance may be returned to its original value.

  • Patent number: 8302969
Abstract: This invention describes a game of inverse chess, with a pre-identified start position, and end position and arbitered moves chosen amongst a set of possible moves, played between two opponents on a chess board. This differs from normal chess in that it is played backwards in time where the objective is to reconstruct the pre-identified start position, from the pre-identified end position. While the pieces used in the game are essentially the same as that of regular chess, the moves they make are reversed. Since the state-space of this game is much larger in the potential moves, an arbiter is used to validate possible moves that one player might choose to make. Using either a regular or modified chess board, the pieces on the board move backwards. Three such moves are described in the I-castle, spawn and I-check moves. A variant of the game is the two-knight game wherein two knights play each other and the piece reaching the pre-identified start position, win.
