Abstract: A system and method for determining a number of occupants at a location using multiple modalities. The method includes gathering a first data set with a motion sensor of the lighting system. A second data set is gathered with a transceiver of an RF subsystem. First and second estimates are calculated from the second data set using first and second algorithms. The first estimate and the second estimate are fused to create a fused occupant estimate. The first algorithm, the second algorithm, or both the first algorithm and the second algorithm are trained by inputting the second occupant estimate and/or the second set of data to recalibrate parameters of the first algorithm and/or inputting the first occupant estimate and/or the first set of data to recalibrate parameters during training of the second algorithm. A building control system can operated in response to the fused occupant estimate.

Abstract: A reversible gerotor pump system is provided. The gerotor pump system includes a cylindrical housing with a 180° slot, an eccentric ring with a locking pin fixed thereto and movably engaged in the slot; an outer rotor and inner rotor with meshed teeth, and shaft for driving inner rotor and system. The eccentric ring has a convex profile on the outer diameter. A positive contact system, which can be a spring-and-plunger system or frictional disc brake system is provided to increase frictional force between the eccentric ring and the outer rotor. The locking pin moves in the slot with clearance at both rotation directions to provide a self-damping effect. The suction port has prolongations at both upstream and the downstream sides to increase filling time such that the pump can have a fill speed of above 5000 rpm, and the volumetric efficiency is at least 90% at 5000 rpm.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to techniques for volumetric performance capture with neural rendering. A technique may involve initially obtaining images that depict a subject from multiple viewpoints and under various lighting conditions using a light stage and depth data corresponding to the subject using infrared cameras. A neural network may extract features of the subject from the images based on the depth data and map the features into a texture space (e.g., the UV texture space). A neural renderer can be used to generate an output image depicting the subject from a target view such that illumination of the subject in the output image aligns with the target view. The neural render may resample the features of the subject from the texture space to an image space to generate the output image.

Abstract: A system and method for security risk identification in a secure software lifecycle. A knowledge database has a plurality of security elements which are identified for a particular software application depending on software environment and prioritized in a task list. Code vulnerabilities are identified using code scanners, with security requirements updated based on identified vulnerabilities, lack of vulnerabilities for weaknesses covered by a code scanner, potential weaknesses not adequately covered by code scanners, and software environment changes.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for using presence detection in order to switch between power modes of a display device. For instance, the display device may operate in a first power mode by deactivating a display. While operating in the first power mode, the display device may use a sensor to detect a presence of a possible object. The display device may then switch to a second power mode in order to verify that the possible object is an actual object. In response, the display device may switch to a third power mode by at least activating the display and presenting a user interface using the display. The display device may then receive an interaction. In response, the display device may switch to a fourth power mode by at least presenting content.

Abstract: Generating a table with at least one skewed row, skewed column, shifted row, or shifted column is described. A table generation system generates a table that includes cells arranged in a grid comprising rows and columns, and defines each cell using a grid address, a grid span, a grid angle, a string skew value, a string shift value, and a shift indicator for the cell. The table generation system may receive input modifying a grid angle for at least one row or column and generate a modified table by skewing cells included in the at least one row or column by the grid angle. The table generation system may additionally or alternatively receive input shifting at least one row or column by a string shift value and modify the display of the table by shifting the at least one row or column according to the string shift value.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer storage media directed to adaptable drawing guides. In implementations, a guide mode is identified. Generally, a guide mode indicates a manner in which to use a drawing guide to confine strokes corresponding with input paths. Upon detecting an input path, a stroke is drawn in accordance with the guide mode. For example, when an edge mode is employed, the drawn stroke is confined to align with at least one edge of the drawing guide, when an inside mode is employed, the drawn stroke is confined inside of the set of edges of the drawing guide, and when the outside mode is employed, the drawn stroke is confined outside of the set of edges of the drawing guide.

Database observation system receives and aggregates the information for multiple service level indicators from each of the database servers belonging to multiple different entities. The database observation system provides, within a dashboard interface, the aggregated information for each of the multiple service level indicators, individual service level indicator scores, and aggregated service level indicator scores for each of the database servers for each of the multiple entities.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods related to applying lighting models to images of objects are provided. An example method includes applying a geometry model to an input image to determine a surface orientation map indicative of a distribution of lighting on an object based on a surface geometry. The method further includes applying an environmental light estimation model to the input image to determine a direction of synthetic lighting to be applied to the input image. The method also includes applying, based on the surface orientation map and the direction of synthetic lighting, a light energy model to determine a quotient image indicative of an amount of light energy to be applied to each pixel of the input image. The method additionally includes enhancing, based on the quotient image, a portion of the input image. One or more neural networks can be trained to perform one or more of the aforementioned aspects.

Abstract: An integrated circuit may include multiple instances of a component (e.g. a processor) and a control circuit. The instances may be configured to operate in various modes. Some of the modes are incapable of presenting a worst-case load on the power supply. The control circuit may be configured to monitor the instances and detect the modes in which the instances are operating. Based on the monitoring, the control circuit may request to recover a portion of the voltage margin established for worst-case conditions in the instances.

Abstract: An electronic just-in-time learning and training system that is integrated into a user workflow to provide users with the knowledge they require to complete the tasks in the workflow and to provide meaningful and impactful training to users or advancement along a learning or training path. User tasks are matched to training modules in a training database to assist with completion of a task while a user profile tracks user training to deliver the most appropriate training modules. The system tracks completion of training modules to guide the user with training and advancement and to offer the user opportunities for additional certification and learning.

Abstract: A system and a method for promoting a tutor on a platform. The system receives a tutor profile from the tutor. The tutor profile comprises a set of information about the tutor and a first cohort of students assigned to the tutor. The system randomly assigns a question received from a student belonging to a second cohort of students to the tutor in real time. The system further receives an answer to the question from the tutor. Further, the system analyses the answer based on a machine learning model. Subsequently, the system requests feedback about the tutor from the student of the second cohort of students. The system evaluates the tutor based on the plurality of parameters and the feedback receiving using deep learning algorithms. Finally, the system promotes the tutor for a group coaching of the students on the platform.

The system continues until discovering that the chain has cycled back to the starting link, identifies a type of chain for the chain, and fingerprints the chain.

Abstract: A method is provided for maintaining an onboard reasoner for diagnosing failures on an aircraft that includes aircraft systems configured to report faults to the onboard reasoner. The method includes accessing diagnostic data received from an onboard computer of the aircraft that includes the onboard reasoner. An off-board reasoner builds an off-board diagnostic causal model that describes causal relationships between the failed tests and the diagnosed failure modes. The off-board diagnostic causal model is compared to the diagnostic data. Based thereon, a discrepancy is identified between the graph of the off-board diagnostic causal model, and the other graph of the onboard diagnostic causal model, to determine a new causal relationship relative to the known causal relationships. The onboard diagnostic causal model is updated to further describe the new causal relationship, including producing an updated model, and uploading the updated model to the onboard computer.

Abstract: Digital content design system techniques are described using baseline units to control arrangement and sizing of digital content. In one example, a digital content design system receives a user input specifying a number of baselines to be included within an available display area of a page. Baselines are used to align digital content to control arrangement of the digital content within the page, e.g., text. From this, the digital content design system then calculates a baseline unit from a distance used to space adjacent baselines of the number of baselines from each other. This baseline unit is then leveraged by the system as a fundamental unit of measure to control arrangement and/or sizing of digital content in relation to each other.

Abstract: A system for generating and distributing a digital mixtape. In one example, the system can receive a user command to generate a digital mixtape including a user-defined compilation of music. The user command identifies a recipient of the digital mixtape and identifies one or more media content items to be included in the music compilation for the recipient. The digital mixtape can also include audio recordings from the user to be added to the digital mixtape.
