Abstract: A rules engine uses a set of sequenced rules in determining which rule to apply when assigning buyers in a procurement organization to requisitions submitted to the procurement organization. The rules are user-configurable to provide flexible reconfiguration of how the rules engine determines buyer assignments. Attributes of the requisitions may be utilized to determine the appropriate buyers by comparing the attributes with the rules. Sequencing of the rules allows for prioritization of the rules in instances where multiple rules may be applicable to a received requisition. Updates to a rule set can be tested on sample requisitions to allow users to see the results of the updates.

  • Publication number: 20140266487
Abstract: An oscillator/amplifier has a gain controlled amplifier that maintains a desired oscillation waveform amplitude for all possible oscillation frequencies of operation. A peak detector produces a direct current (DC) voltage proportional to the oscillation waveform, and a voltage reference generator provides a reference voltage that is compared against the DC voltage from the peak detector. When the DC voltage is less than the reference voltage the gain of the amplifier is increased, and when the DC voltage is equal to or greater than the reference voltage the gain of the amplifier is decreased. A programmable voltage reference generator may also be used to provide for selection of different oscillation waveform amplitudes. A digital control loop controls the oscillation waveform amplitude over the entire possible frequency range of operation. Various frequency determining elements, e.g., crystal, piezoelectric resonator, inductor-capacitor tuned circuit, resistor-capacitor network, etc.

  • Publication number: 20140282923
Abstract: A method provides device access security via use of periodically changing Quick Response (QR) codes. The method includes: generating a first authentication QR code and assigning the generated QR code as the current authentication mechanism for accessing the device. Contemporaneously with the generation of the QR code, at least one QR code validity parameter is established to define when access to the device can be provided to a second device that provides the correct authentication QR code along with the access request. The method includes, in response to a pre-defined trigger of the QR code validity parameter: generating a new authentication QR code, different from a previously generated authentication QR code; assigning the new authentication QR code as the current authentication mechanism for accessing the device; and enabling access to the first device to only second devices that provide the current authentication QR code as the authentication mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20140281887
Abstract: A method and user interface object for invoking a content selection service to operate with a web page are disclosed. Consistent with one embodiment of the invention, a content selection web portal associated with a content selection service provides a web page for selecting one or more user interface objects to be added to a content provider's web page. Each user interface object is displayed with its associated snippet of code, making it simple for a web author to copy and paste the code into his or her own web page. Once embedded in a web page, the code snippet displays a user interface object (e.g., button) on the web page, and when pressed or selected, invokes a content selection service. Alternatively, the content selection service may be automatically invoked without requiring the selection of a button.

  • Publication number: 20140276352
Abstract: Various systems and methods provide iontophoretic delivery of anesthesia at a patient's tympanic membrane. Some implementations provide channel switching enabling a single current sink to pull current through two electrodes in an alternating fashion based on clock pulses. The iontophoretic delivery of anesthesia may be driven by an AC modulated current. Some implementations provide for continuous flow of fresh iontophoresis fluid to the ear canal during iontophoresis. The fluid flows from a source reservoir into the cavity between the tympanic membrane and a plug, and then drains out of the cavity to a reservoir. An iontophoresis system may also detect capacitance between an anode electrode and an auxiliary electrode in a patient's ear canal, watching for reduced capacitance to indicate presence of a bubble in the iontophoresis fluid.

  • Publication number: 20140270457
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media that can be used to image an unstained sample. Traditionally histopathology and immunohistochemistry methods use stains or dyes in combination with microscopy (or other detection methods) to detect cells and cellular structures, such as proteins. However, the disclosed methods do not require the use of such stains and dyes. The disclosed methods can include obtaining a spectroscopic image (e.g., infrared (IR) imaging data) of the sample, analyzing the resulting spectroscopic image to reduce the dimensionality of the spectroscopic image, comparing the reduced spectroscopic image compared to a control (e.g., by using an appropriately trained algorithm) and generating an output computed stain image from the reduced IR spectra, thereby imaging the sample without the use of stains or dyes.

  • Publication number: 20140281777
Abstract: A method for localizing at least one scan flop associated with a fault in an integrated circuit. A first test pattern, including a first scan-in data and first control data, is generated. Based on the first control data of the first test pattern, a first fault data is generated by applying the first scan-in data of the first test pattern to scan flops in a test circuit of the integrated circuit. If the first fault data indicates that a fault may be present in the integrated circuit, a second test pattern, including a second scan-in data and a second control data is generated.

  • Publication number: 20140266089
Abstract: A controlled start-up circuit mechanism in a linear voltage regulator can handle a higher supply voltage at start-up and limits the voltage seen at the devices to be lower than the maximum allowed operation voltage. The circuit may regulate voltage for operating a device coupled to a host when the host supply exceeds that necessary for device operation. The controlled start-up mechanism handles a sudden ramp up or spike of supply voltage relative to the device's operational voltage.

  • Patent number: 8838041
Abstract: A first network device including a first calibration module to generate training signals for each of a plurality of subcarriers. The training signals are transmitted from the first network device to a second network device via antennas of the first network device using the subcarriers. A first steering module receives a first matrix for each subcarrier, which includes channel state information for each of the training signals received by the second network device, from the second network device according to a transmission schedule and generates a steering matrix based on the first matrix. The transmission schedule is predetermined or is transmitted to the second network device prior to transmitting the training signals. A first control module adjusts, based on the steering matrix, first beamforming weights associated with the antennas to direct first radio frequency signals to be transmitted toward the second network device.

  • Patent number: 8839031
Abstract: Data consistency between a primary virtual machine and a recovery virtual machine may employ a resync engine to detect differences in data blocks stored on both virtual machines. For example, the resync engine may calculate a signature (e.g., hash value) for a primary data block and a corresponding signature for a recovery data block, and compare the signature and the corresponding signature to identify a difference between the primary data block and the recovery data block. In some instances, by identifying a difference between the primary data block and the recovery data block, a data block (e.g., primary data block or recovery data block) may be identified to be transferred from a virtual machine to another virtual machine.
