  • Publication number: 20130007504
Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for accessing a storage device from a node when a local connection failure occurs between the node and the storage device. A failure is determined to have occurred at a first node access path between a first node and a storage device that prevents an application at the first node from accessing the storage device from the first node access path. An access request is sent from the first node to a second node. The second node has a second node access path to the storage device. A determination is made that the second node can communicate with the storage device. The storage device is accessed by an application at the first node via the second node access path.

  • Patent number: 8345795
Abstract: A system and method of beamforming may reduce feedback requirements. In some implementations, a beamforming technique may employ a diagonal matrix as a beamforming matrix along with a stream-to-transmit antenna mapping matrix. In some antenna phase beamforming strategies, a diagonal beamforming matrix in which the diagonal elements have a constant magnitude may be employed. Accordingly, a beamforming system may be utilized with few feedback information bits being transmitted from the beamformee; such a system may also minimize or eliminate power fluctuations among multiple transmit antennae.

  • Publication number: 20120327899
Abstract: A dual mode Access Terminal (AT) is operable to communicate both in a Circuit Switched (CS) network domain and an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network domain. Up-to-date handoff configuration information is transmitted from an IMS server to the AT during a registration of the dual mode AT with an IMS network or during establishment of a call session of AT. The handoff configuration information is used in a call handoff of an ongoing call of the AT between the CS network and the IMS network. In the examples, the handoff configuration information includes a handoff number for use in a handoff to the Circuit Switched (CS) network and a handoff Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) for use in a handoff to the IMS network.

  • Patent number: 8340597
Abstract: A transmitter beamforming technique for use in a MIMO wireless communication system determines a calibration factor and then applies the calibration factor to a transmit beamforming steering matrix developed using implicit beamforming, i.e., using an estimate of a forward channel disposed between a transmitter and a receiver based on a measurement of the reverse channel disposed between the receiver and the transmitter. The beamforming technique first determines descriptions of both the forward and reverse channels, determines an estimate of the forward channel from the description of the reverse channel, determines right singular matrixes which model the forward channel and the estimated forward channel and then develops a calibration factor from the determined right singular matrixes. The beamforming technique then applies the determined calibration factor to a steering matrix which is calculated using a standard implicit beamforming technique, i.e.

  • Publication number: 20120314648
Abstract: In aspects of the present disclosure, a user equipment receives inter-NodeB multi-point transmissions, and a multipoint aggregation component detects a gap in the sequence numbers, delays transmitting a not acknowledged signal (NAK) by starting a NAK delay timer, and transmits, by a transceiver, NAK for the gap in sequence numbers in response to the NAK delay timer expiring and detecting that the gap has not been filled during the delaying. If the Medium Access Control (MAC) entity as the respective NodeB identifies itself to the Radio Link Control (RLC), out-of-order delivery (skew) can eventually be distinguished from genuine data loss before the NAK delay timer expires based upon tracking the highest sequence numbers received. Adaptive NAK delay timer can be performed by monitoring skew duration.
