Abstract: A system and method are disclosed by which the effects of time of arrival errors may be reduced. In a mobile unit, such as a CDMA device, a correlation pulse is generated when a transmitted code matches a stored reference code. In the absence of multipath effects, correlation pulses are generated in response to the detection of multiple transmissions of the reference code from multiple transmitters. However, multipath effects distort the generated correlation pulses leading to errors in the time of arrival measurements. The present invention calculates the width of the correlation pulses and determines a delay correction factor based on the pulse width. The delay correction factor is added to the measured delay time to provide a more accurate delay time, thus permitting more accurate location measurements based on time of arrival. In alternative embodiments, other signal factors may also be used to apply delay correction factors.

Abstract: A post print finishing device that incorporates an imaging material binder into the post print handling and finishing functions. In one exemplary embodiment, the finishing device includes a flipper module, an accumulator module and a binder module. The binder module binds sheets together by reactivating imaging material applied to binding regions on the sheets by a printing device. The flipper module receives a sheet leading edge first and discharges the sheet trailing edge first. That is to say, the flipper module flips the sheet before discharging the sheet for further processing. The accumulator module stacks the sheets, presents the sheets to the binder for binding and then discharges the bound stack to the output bin.

The flip-flop has a plurality of storage transistors with a threshold voltage of a first value. Abstract: A hydrogen blower is provided and includes a housing having a drive unit and a compressor unit disposed therein. The drive unit is separated from the compressor unit by a neutral chamber, whereby the neutral chamber effectively seals the drive unit from the compressor unit. The drive unit includes a drive shaft, whereby the drive shaft extends generally between the drive unit and the compressor unit to selectively drive the compressor. In addition, the drive shaft fixedly supports a series of fan blades such that rotation of the drive shaft imparts a pressure on the neutral chamber to effectively seal the drive unit from the compressor unit. In this manner, the drive motor, compressor, and drive shaft may be packaged in a single housing while effectively sealing the drive unit from the compressor unit through cooperation between the fan blades and the neutral chamber.

Abstract: A method of communicating between a graphical component library and an appearance manager is provided that includes issuing a request, that includes component defining parameters, for rendering services by a graphical component library. The appearance manager receives the request for rendering services and assigns appearance characteristics to the graphical component based upon the provided parameters. A method of rendering graphical components on the display of a computer system is also provided that includes rendering the requested graphical component according to the appearance characteristics assigned by the appearance manager. A method is also provided for communicating between a graphical component library and an appearance manager that includes issuing a request, that includes component defining parameters, for information about the defined component.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods for enhanced detection of biological response profiles. In particular, the methods of this invention allow for the detection of biological response patterns, such as gene expression patterns, in response to different drug treatments. The methods of the invention also allow the determination of a “consensus profile” which describes a particular class or type of biological response. In certain embodiments the consensus profile may describe the biological response of a particular group or class of drugs. In other embodiments, the consensus profile may describe an “ideal” biological response such as one associated with a desired therapeutic effect. The methods of the present invention also allow for the comparison of different biological responses. Thus, the methods of the invention may be used, e.g., to identify and/or study new drugs.

The luminescence radiation, desorbed particles, or free charges are indicative of the dose delivered to the substrate, and can be detected close to the substrate or at the substrate level to avoid errors due to transmission variations in the optical path from the radiation source to the substrate.
