  • Patent number: 9845669
Abstract: For hydrocarbon recovery from a reservoir of bituminous sands, steam and a multi-function agent are injected into the reservoir for mobilizing bitumen in the reservoir to form a fluid comprising hydrocarbons, water and the multi-function agent. The fluid is produced from the reservoir. The multi-function agent may comprise an organic molecule that reduces viscosity of oil and the interfacial tension between oil and water or a gas or rock in the reservoir, and has a partition coefficient favoring solubility in oil over water and a partial pressure in the reservoir allowing the organic molecule to be transported with steam as a vapor. The multi-function agent may comprise a solvent for reducing viscosity of oil and a surfactant for reducing interfacial tension, where both the solvent and surfactant are transportable with steam as vapor.

  • Publication number: 20170291448
Abstract: A sprag one-way clutch (OWC) used within a cassette driver of the rear hub assembly of a bicycle. The new cassette driver delivers improved performance the reduction of rotation of the crank arm required before engagement within the cassette driver when the cyclist applies force to the pedals. Additionally, the sprag clutch smooth engagement minimizes friction loss during free-wheeling, therefore increasing drivetrain efficiency. These enhancements provide both safety and performance benefits by giving the cyclist greater control in moving between pedaling and free-wheeling. The current cassette driver design utilizes a sprag OWC for engagement without any modifications to current bicycle designs. A sprag cage may be used to provide a framework to support and properly position the sprags.

  • Publication number: 20170247043
Abstract: A stroller frame includes a seat pan, an operating handle movably coupled to the seat pan, and two opposite foldable side frame units each including a front leg, a handle rod, a rear leg that has a top end pivotally connected to the handle rod, a bottom leg that has a lower end pivotally connected to the rear leg, and a sliding basket tube that is movably coupled to said seat pan and slidably connected to said rear leg. To unfold the stroller frame, said operating handle is pushed downward to drive said seat pan to pivot downward so that an angle between said front leg and said bottom leg of each of said side frame units increases until said stroller frame is converted from a folded state to an unfolded state.

  • Publication number: 20170213473
Abstract: A method and apparatus for an augmented reality simulator for professional and educational training is provided. The simulator provides a training environment spanning one or more physical locations in which one or more virtual avatars representing purely virtual objects or persons or real physical objects or persons which are located at a different physical location are projected into the physical space. The avatars are interactive with other avatars and real objects or persons and update over time or in response to actions taken by other real or virtual elements, or based on predefined instructions. Sensors and devices are used to detect the locations of and actions taken by real persons or real objects and this sensed data is used to evolve the state of the simulation and avatars based on predefined instructions and programs and update the view of all participants.

  • Patent number: 9333938
Abstract: An airbag includes an outer shell defining an interior of the airbag, and a divider positioned in the interior so as to divide the interior into a first chamber and a second chamber. A valve mechanism is operatively coupled to the divider. The valve mechanism includes an opening enabling fluid communication between the first and second chambers, and a flap positioned in the second chamber overlying the opening. The flap is structured to deflect in a direction away from the opening responsive to a pressure differential urging a flow of gas from the first chamber through the opening into the second chamber. The flap is also structured to block the opening responsive to a reverse pressure differential urging a flow of gas from the second chamber through the opening into the first chamber. The flap includes at least one attachment edge along which the flap is attached to the divider and at least one non-attachment edge along which the flap is not attached to the divider.

  • Publication number: 20150345270
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure involve the production of hydrocarbons from segregated reservoir compartments. Thermal recovery processes within one compartment are used so as to provide thermal energy to a second, adjoining but distinct compartment, increasing fluid pressures within the second compartment to drive hydrocarbons from the second compartment to the first compartment, so that hydrocarbons originating from the second compartment may be produced from the first compartment.
