Patent number: 12179628Abstract: A controller may determine a battery consumption configuration of the machine based on information regarding the machine, and obtain fuel burn data indicating an amount of fuel burned by the machine. The controller may determine a simulated battery consumption of the machine based on the battery consumption configuration and the fuel burn data. The controller may determine a simulated battery charge level based on the simulated battery consumption. The controller may determine whether the simulated battery charge level satisfies a charge level threshold. The controller may derate an engine of the machine based on determining that the simulated battery charge level does not satisfy the charge level threshold.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2022Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Scott Allen Marks, Royce E. Patent number: 12174013Abstract: A measuring probe for a coordinate measuring machine is provided. The measuring probe includes a stylus position detection portion with a sensing coil configuration, signal processing and control circuitry and a temperature dependent compensation portion. The temperature dependent compensation portion includes a temperature dependent component that is coupled to at least part of the sensing coil configuration such that a change in a characteristic of the temperature dependent component due to an increase in temperature of the temperature dependent component causes a ratio of a first current to a second current to increase in the sensing coil configuration, wherein the first and second currents are in at least one first sensing coil and at least one second sensing coil, respectively, of the sensing coil configuration. Such implementations are configured to increase accuracy of the processed signals by at least partially compensating for certain affects that occur due to temperature changes.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2022Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: Mitutoyo CorporationInventors: Christopher Richard Hamner, Scott Allen Harsila

Patent number: 12151188Abstract: Selective recovery of C2 to C4 hydrocarbons is achieved through the use of a converging-diverging nozzle, or de Laval nozzle. The vapor stream comprising C2 to C4 hydrocarbons is fed into an inlet of a de Laval nozzle having a throat. The vapor stream may have an initial temperature of between 0° C. and 100° C., and an initial pressure of between 200 psig and 500 psig. In the de Laval nozzle, the vapor stream expands after passing through the throat of the de Laval nozzle, producing a vapor stream having reduced temperature and pressure. Then, C2 to C4 hydrocarbons condense from the reduced-temperature vapor stream as liquid droplets, which may be recovered. Fractionation of C2 to C4 hydrocarbons by means of a de Laval nozzle is possible; the technique allows selective recovery of propane from a mixture of propane and ethane.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2022Date of Patent: November 26, 2024Assignees: Eastman Chemical Company, North Carolina State UniversityInventors: Ashfaq Shahanawaz Shaikh, Thomas Allen Puckette, Scott Allen Owens, Syed Mohammed Maaz, Jack R.
