  • Publication number: 20240156185
Abstract: A wearable garment, such as a vest, for providing thermal conditioning, for example cooling and/or heating, to a user. The vest may be used with cryogenic temperatures. Peltier devices, pre-charged nitrogen canisters, or miniature Stirling cryocoolers may be mounted and built into the wearable or externally carried or mounted thereto. A pump, such as a vacuum diaphragm pump, causes thermally conditioned air to flow through a series of porous regenerative tubing and/or porous panels to supply conditioned air to a user of the garment. The system may use a cryocooler having a pulsating cold finger. The cryo embodiments may supply ?200° C. gas through the panels or tubing. Portable systems can be carried or attached, such as HVAC, refrigeration, heating or the like. Control systems may regulate the temperature and may be adjusted by a user, for example using an input pad or a mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20240077296
Abstract: A measuring system includes a measuring probe with a contact portion that contacts a workpiece to be measured. The measuring probe operates with a first update rate during at least part of a moving mode, wherein the moving mode includes movement of the measuring probe such that the contact portion is moved away from the workpiece and/or is moved at a distance from the workpiece that is equal to or greater than a threshold distance. The measuring probe operates with a second update rate (i.e., which is faster than the first update rate) during at least part of a measuring mode, wherein the measuring mode includes movement of the measuring probe such that the contact portion is moved toward the workpiece for obtaining a measurement. In various implementations, the combined use of the first and second update rates effectively reduces power-on drift of the measuring probe.

  • Publication number: 20230410431
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for a dynamic, reconfigurable virtual reality environment with in-environment access to external data and resources. Implementations of these systems also provide an external mechanism for modifying other aspects of the virtual reality experience with no need to recode or compile the experience. This can alter the primary flow of the experience, change its behavior based on the specific user accessing it and add branded or customer-specific aspects to the application. The same level or environment can provide drastically different experiences for various users from beginners through experts, even allowing the option of random or ordered events, controllable by an instructor or administrator, through simple configuration.

  • Patent number: 11798018
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for feature selection that combines semantic classification and generative filtering with forward selection. Features from an original feature set are divided into feature subsets corresponding to ranked semantic classes. Additionally, low quality features are removed from consideration. Features are selected for a reduced feature set by iteratively processing the feature subsets using forward selection in an order corresponding to the ranking of the semantic classes. The reduced feature set is used to generate a predictive model.
