  • Patent number: 7095991
Abstract: In a mobile phone having a liquid crystal display unit, the entire liquid crystal display unit is displayed in a simple display mode at lest in a non-operating standby mode. In the simple display mode, the entire liquid crystal display unit is driven by reducing the number of gradation levels or by decreasing a liquid crystal driving voltage. By using such a controlling method, the power consumption of the liquid crystal display unit can be reduced in the non-operating standby mode. On the other hand, necessary information such as time and the amount of remaining battery is displayed such that the information can be read.

  • Publication number: 20060091537
Abstract: Slit-like gap regions are provided at sides of a bonding pad that surrounds a window for bonding. The bonding pad is divided into a region at the side of the window and another region at the side of an adjoining interconnection layer in which the gap regions are the boundaries between these regions. The region provided at the side of the wiring layer is spaced apart from the region at the side of the bonding window by the width of the associated gap region. The gap regions are filled with a passivation film that is soft as compared with Top-side. Thermal stress is absorbed and distributed by the gap regions, and diffusion of metal atoms from the region at the side of the window to the region at the side of the interconnection layer is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6844886
Abstract: In a network control system, a device has screen display data indicative of its operating screen, and a controller issues a screen request (101) to obtain the screen display data, etc., as screen information (111) from the device. By using the screen display data, etc., the controller displays the operating screen. When an operation is carried out to the operating screen, its operation information and identification information of the screen display data are sent to the device as operation request (241). The device executes a function corresponding to the operation request. As a result, when the screen display data in the device is changed, the device sends the changed screen display data, etc., to the controller as screen information (121).

  • Patent number: 6621020
Abstract: A breaking mechanism includes a latch receiver engaging a latch to allow a movable contact shoe to be closed, and a tripping device for rotationally driving the latch receiver to disengage the latch to open the movable contact shoe. An engaging surface of the latch engaging the latch receiver is formed as a projecting circular surface, whereas an engaging surface of the latch receiver engaging the projecting circular surface is formed as a recessed circular surface having a radius of curvature greater than that of the projecting circular surface. The center of the curvature of the recessed circular surface coincides with the axis of a support shaft supporting the latch receiver. The loads causing a tripping device to drive the latch receiver do not change even if the location of an engaging point is changed.

  • Patent number: 6476389
Abstract: In quantitative analysis of an element in a specimen in which characteristic X-rays generated from the specimen upon irradiation with an electron beam are detected, absorption current values of the specimen and a reference sample are measured before the final measurement, the value of ratio between thus measured values is determined, and the absorption current value of the specimen measured at the time of final measurement is multiplied by this value of ratio, so as to calculate the irradiation current value thereof, thereby substantially monitoring the irradiation current.

  • Patent number: 6451961
Abstract: Provided are processes by which an ethylenimine polymer and an aqueous solution thereof can advantageously be produced at low costs in an industrial scale. The ethylenimine polymer can be produced by polymerizing crude ethylenimine obtained by a simple distilling operation from an ethylenimine-containing reaction mixture produced by subjecting ethanolamine to intermolecular dehydration reaction, preferably crude ethylenimine having impurity contents which are controlled in the specific ranges. When the above crude ethylenimine is polymerized in an aqueous medium, capable of being obtained is an aqueous solution of an ethylenimine polymer having a higher molecular weight than that produced by non-solvent polymerization. The ethylenimine polymer can be purified by, for example, adding water thereto, mixing them and then vaporizing and removing water under heating. The aqueous solution of an ethylenimine polymer can be purified by heating and condensing it.
