    Abstract: In the course of a production of a semiconductor device with a multilayer insulating layer, when a contact hole is opened in the multilayer insulating layer, an insulating layer activating a metal selective vapor-growth appears at the side wall of the contact hole. A thin metal (e.g., tungsten) layer is selectively deposited in the contact hole. In another case, another metal layer appears within the contact hole. An insulating film preventing a metal selective vapor-growth is deposited over the whole surface of the side wall of the contact hole, the metal layer and a top surface of the multilayer insulating layer, and is anisotropically etched to leave a portion of the film lying on the side wall only as a side wall insulating film.     Abstract: A transmission electron microscope including an input portion such as a keyboard, a central processing unit (CPU), two memories connected with the CPU, an imaging lens system, and a lens control portion connected with the CPU. The imaging lens system comprises an objective lens, intermediate lenses, and a projector lens. The microscope can operate either in image mode or in diffraction mode. In the image mode, excitation currents fed to the lenses can be controlled to rotate the image projected onto the fluorescent screen. In the diffraction mode, the excitation currents are controlled according to data about the orientation of the image so that the projected diffraction pattern may substantially coincide in orientation with the image.

    Abstract: A rotational speed number controlling device for automatic transmissions for changing speeds by automatically changing a plurality of centrifugal clutches in response to the number of revolutions of the engine wherein a sliding piece is connected to a rotary shaft to which the rotation of a low speed side centrifugal clutch is to be transmitted so as to be able to transmit rotations and to be slidable in the axial direction in response to the driving torque so that the number of engaging rotations of a high speed side centrifugal clutch may be varied by the sliding of the above mentioned sliding piece caused in response to the driving torque. For example, in the case of a quick acceleration at the time of the second speed running in an automatic three-speed transmission, the high speed side centrifugal clutch may not be immediately engaged but the second speed state may be maintained until a sufficient acceleration and then the high speed side centrifugal clutch may be engaged.

    Abstract: An apparatus for loading unvulcanized tires on a tire vulcanizing machine of the sort which has a vertically movable loader arm with a contractibly expansible paddle at the fore end thereof, an oscillating cylinder cooperative with a movable arm for oscillating the loader arm in a horizontal plane, and a stand-by station for temporarily holding unvulcanized tires to be loaded on the vulcanizing machine, the loader arm being adapted to load the unvulcanized tires one after another in a mold on the machine by lifting, oscillating and paddle-expanding operations. The loading apparatus is characterized by the provision of a plural number of stand-by stations on a locus of oscillatory movement of one loader arm, and a plural number of oscillating cylinders cooperative with a corresponding number of movable arms for oscillating the loader arm between the center of the mold and a selected one of the stand-by stations.

The provision of the middle layer can render the surface of the conductive layer-carrying plastic film or layer flat without causing deformation on the surface thereof by the curved or waved surface of the foam layer and permit an effective utilization of such electric properties in addition to an effective prevention of the electrode layer provided thereon from coming off. Where the electrode layer is provided inside the conductive layer-carrying plastic film, the corrosion of the electrode layer can be prevented effectively.

    Abstract: A decoking apparatus suitable for use on a reaction vessel for the thermal cracking of heavy petroleum oils the apparatus essentially including a rotatable main injection pipe to be disposed in the reaction vessel and having a multitude of jet nozzles along its length, and a second or auxiliary injection pipe positioned in the proximity of the main injection pipe to inject a scrubbing liquid over the outer peripheral walls of the main injection pipe to prevent deposition of coke. The main and auxiliary injection pipes are both supplied with heavy petroleum oil to remove the coke deposition from the reactor wall by the heavy petroleum oil jets from the main injection pipe while wetting the exterior of the main pipe with the heavy petroleum oil injected by the auxiliary injection pipe.
