    Abstract: A method includes providing a cable connector and a compression tool that includes a hydraulic assembly, the hydraulic assembly having an axially extendable ram. The compression tool further includes a connector frame detachably attached to the hydraulic assembly, the connector frame having a cable cradle configured to accommodate the cable, and a sliding guide structure mounted to the connector frame assembly, the sliding guide structure comprising a sliding bar and one or more sliding guides, and a sleeve attached to the sliding bar. The method including locating the cable connector into the compression tool and disposing one end of the prepared cable into one end of the compression member, activating the hydraulic assembly, so that extending the axially extendable ram along the longitudinal axis causes the sliding bar to move along the longitudinal axis producing compression of a compression member and a connector body into operative engagement with the cable.

The body includes an insertion portion configured to be inserted between the outer conductor and inner conductor where a section of the insulating layer has been cored out. The body also includes an opening defined in the insertion portion and configured to receive the inner conductor. The body further includes means for increasing the diameter of the outer conductor that surrounds the cored-out section.

The external connector structure cooperates with the internal connector structure to define a cylindrical gap that is configured to receive an increased-diameter section of the outer conductor. The conductive pin is configured to deform the inner conductor.

    Abstract: A compression connector for smooth walled, corrugated, and spiral corrugated coaxial cable includes an insulator disposed within the body, wherein the insulator contains a central opening therein which is dimensioned smaller than a collet portion which seizes a center conductor of the coaxial cable. The connector also includes a clamp disposed inside the body as well as a compression sleeve assembly. An intermediate connector element includes a transitional surface which interacts with the clamp. When an axial force is applied to the compression sleeve, the clamp is forced by the transitional surface into the body, causing the clamp to squeeze onto an outer conductor layer of the coaxial cable. At approximately the same time, the collet portion is forced through the central opening of the insulator, causing the collet portion to squeeze onto the center conductor.

    Abstract: Passive intermodulation (PIM) and impedance management in coaxial cable terminations. In one example embodiment, a method for terminating a coaxial cable is provided. The coaxial cable includes an inner conductor, an insulating layer, an outer conductor, and a jacket. First, a diameter of the outer conductor that surrounds a cored-out section of the insulating layer is increased so as to create an increased-diameter cylindrical section of the outer conductor. Next, an internal connector structure is inserted into the cored-out section so as to be surrounded by the increased-diameter cylindrical section. Finally, an external connector structure is clamped around the increased-diameter cylindrical section so as to radially compress the increased-diameter cylindrical section between the external connector structure and the internal connector structure, and via a single action, a contact force between the inner conductor and a conductive pin is increased.
