  • Publication number: 20080102697
Abstract: The invention provides a connector for coax cable with a snap bearing providing the interface between the inner body and the outer body. A concave surface below the snap bearing, which is retained by a pair of shoulders, allows the snap bearing to elastically deform during assembly of the connector to thereby reduce the risk of plastic deformation of the components while allowing significant improvements in overlap at the interface of the components.

  • Patent number: 7297023
Abstract: A coaxial cable connector includes an internal compression ring that provides a weather seal for a wide range of coaxial cable diameter sizes. The compression ring includes a flexing portion with a defined recessed section designed to flex outwardly when in contact with a wide diameter coaxial cable. With larger cables, the wall flexes more, while with smaller cables the wall flexes less, if at all, providing a seal in all cases.

  • Patent number: 7287992
Abstract: A protective cap includes first and second sealing sections, with the first section fitting into the end of a port terminator which contains a center conductor pin and the second section fitting into the end of the port terminator which contains a deep bore which accommodates a security tool used to lock and unlock the port terminator from a port. The protective cap can thus be used to protect the center conductor pin during shipping and then be used to cap the bore of the port terminator upon installation of the terminator in a multiport tap.

  • Patent number: 7255599
Abstract: An RF filter which includes a circuit board connected to an internal frame has two end connectors connected to the frame, with a protective casing connected to the internal frame and the end connectors. Insulators in each end connector are shaped to form air pockets between the air pockets and the outer conductor portion of the end connectors. A plurality of O-rings are disposed in various locations on the insulators to prevent moisture from entering the filter. The RF filter passes the SCTE Red Dye Test and limits return loss to better than negative 20 dB.

  • Publication number: 20070082546
Abstract: A compression tool for connecting a coaxial cable compression connector to a coaxial cable include first and second operating arms rotatably connected at a pivot point, similar to a pair of pliers. Each operating arm includes a handle at one end, but the first arm includes a holding jaw at the other end, while the second arm includes a compression jaw at the other end. The jaws are parallel to each other at the start of the compression stroke, but as the jaws compress the connector parts, one jaw toes-in with respect to the other. To ensure that the jaws apply a compression force primarily along the connector body axis during the compression stroke, the holding jaw is designed to hold the connector end loosely such that the connector end angularly floats within the jaw.

  • Publication number: 20060292925
Abstract: A coaxial connector having a connector assembly and a securing assembly. The connector assembly has a first contact assembly and a second contact assembly and first and second receivers for wire. The securing assembly and connector assembly cooperate with each other and are movable relative to each other so as to be changeable between a pre-assembly state and an assembled state. The first receiver is changeable from a first state into a second state wherein the first receptacle has a reduced effective diameter as an incident of the securing assembly and connector assembly being changed from the pre-assembly state into the assembled state.

  • Publication number: 20060279911
Abstract: An RF filter casing includes an internal frame, first and second interface ends connected to the frame, and a protective casing connected to the internal frame and to the first and second interface ends. The internal frame includes a support structure for multiple bosses which support a circuit board and provide ground connection for at least one circuit on the circuit board. The multiple bosses provide the ability to have short printed circuit traces to ground, thus minimizing parasitics.

  • Patent number: 7144273
Abstract: An insulated cable attachment device, made of an electrically insulating material, is connectable to a termination connector which is in turn connectable to a tap port for a cable television system. When an installer disconnects service to a subscriber's house, the signal is shut down to the tap port to which the subscriber drop cable is connected. The drop cable is disconnected from the tap port and a terminator connector is connected in its place on the tap port. The installer then installs the insulated cable attachment device onto the terminator connector before connecting the drop cable to the insulated cable attachment device, thereby preventing any difference in ground potentials between the terminal connector and the drop cable from being transmitted to the end of the drop cable near the house.

  • Publication number: 20060089027
Abstract: A tamper-resistant termination device for a cable port comprising a housing having a first end which includes an inner wall bounding a first central bore, the inner wall having a first recess; a connector body configured to fit within the housing having internal threads for mating with a cable port, the connector body having a second recess which can be rotationally aligned with the first recess; and a locking member disposed for movement from a first position located substantially within either the first recess or the second recess to a second position wherein the locking member is partially disposed within said first recess and partially disposed within said second recess. When the locking member is in the first position, the housing rotates independently of the connector body. When the locking member is in the second position, rotation of the housing affects a rotation of the connector body.
