Abstract: A cable stripping tool includes a marking device connected directly to a handle of the tool, or connected to a cartridge containing the marking device, which cartridge is connected to the handle of the tool. The underside of the cartridge contains a plurality of cutting blades to cut different layers of a coaxial cable. The marking device contains a tip which marks the proper location on the cable indicating the proper depth of insertion of the prepared coaxial cable into a cable connector. Different cartridges are sized to mark and cut different sizes of cable.

Abstract: A coaxial cable preparation tool is provided wherein the tool includes a body, having a first end and a second end, the first end including a first cavity configured to accommodate insertion of a coaxial cable therein. An outer conductor blade is located near the first end of the body and is movably operable with the body to cut an outer jacket, an outer conductor, and an inner dielectric of the cable when the cable is inserted into the first cavity. A center conductor chamfering member is positioned at the back of a second cavity, the second cavity extending from the second end of the body. A dielectric coring blade is positioned within the second cavity, and a jacket stripping blade is positioned at least partially within the second cavity. A corresponding method of coaxial cable preparation is provided.

Abstract: A bonding block includes a first flat portion, a second flat portion orthogonal to and connected to the first flat portion, and a third flat portion orthogonal to and connected to the first flat portion. The third flat portion is substantially parallel to the second flat portion. A cable connector body is press-fitted into a hole in the first flat portion, staked to the flat portion, and covered by a dress ring. A ground connecting portion for retaining a ground wire is in the form of a box, with the bottom of the box including a retaining groove and the top of the box including a seizure screw. The front and rear of the box contain holes to permit alternate entry locations for the ground wire. The bonding block is preferably formed from a single piece of stainless steel.

Abstract: A compression connector for smooth walled, corrugated, and spiral corrugated coaxial cable includes an insulator disposed within the body, wherein the insulator contains a central opening therein which is dimensioned smaller than a collet portion, or second clamp, which seizes a center conductor of the coaxial cable. The connector also includes a first clamp disposed inside the body as well as a compression sleeve assembly. The body includes a transitional surface separating the body into two regions of different inside diameter. When an axial force is applied to the compression sleeve, the clamp is forced by the transitional surface into the body region having a smaller diameter, causing the clamp to squeeze onto an outer conductor layer of the coaxial cable. At approximately the same time, the collet portion is forced through the central opening, causing the collet portion to squeeze onto the center conductor.

Abstract: An insulator for coaxial cable connectors, the insulator is disposed within a coaxial cable connector and contains an insulator passageway. The insulator has a guide surface at one end. As the prepared end of a coaxial cable is inserted into the insulator passageway, the guide surface engages the dielectric of the cable and radially diverts the conductive foil sheath away from the center conductor of the cable.
