  • Publication number: 20040200053
Abstract: A bearing member manufacturing method manufactures a bearing member 20 formed of a light-metal-base material and capable of stably supporting a rotational shaft at a reduced manufacturing cost. The bearing member manufacturing method manufactures a bearing member 20 including a bearing body 21 formed of a first material, a light-metal-base material, and a bearing part 22 formed of a light-metal-base material different from that forming the body part 21, the bearing part 22 having a bearing surface 23 and bonded to the body part 21. A first workpiece 30 having a cylindrical inside surface 30a serving as the bearing surface 23 is placed in a mold 50. The molten first material is poured into a cavity 56 surrounding the first workpiece 30 to cast a second workpiece 32. The first workpiece 30 and the second workpiece 32 are bonded metallurgically along the interface between the first work-piece 30 and the second workpiece 32 to form a primary workpiece 34 in the form of a semifinished workpiece 33.

  • Publication number: 20040202557
Abstract: An electric pump draws and discharges fluid. When the fluid receives heat from the pump, the fluid has a saturation vapor pressure that can surpass the pressure of fluid that is drawn into the pump and is lower than the pressure of fluid discharged from the pump. The pump includes an electric motor; a pump section that is driven by the electric motor to draw, pressurize, and discharge the fluid; and a housing for accommodating the pump section. The housing defines a motor chamber that accommodates the electric motor. The pressure in the motor chamber is equal to the pressure of fluid that is discharged from the pump section. Therefore, the pump prevents fluid in the motor chamber from vaporizing.

  • Publication number: 20040179953
Abstract: A two-stage gear pump has a pump section. The pump section has an internal space that is located adjacent to a driven gear and about a cylindrical surface of the driven shaft. A discharge section of a first gear train is connected to a suction section of a second gear train with a communication passage. The internal space is connected to the communication passage with a pressure introduction passage. The pressure of the communication passage is introduced to the internal space by the pressure introduction passage, so that the pressure atmosphere of the internal space is an intermediate pressure atmosphere of the suction pressure and the discharge pressure of the pump section.

  • Patent number: 6739198
Abstract: A pressure sensitive sensor is provided that includes a net braid member formed by knitting a plurality of insulating yarn strands, such as an aramid fiber, interposed between an elastic electroconductive tube and a central electrode member. The elastic electroconductive tube and the central electrode member are brought into electrical contact with each other through the gap portion of the mesh of the net braid member at a pressure point, and pressure is detected. The central electrode member is formed by winding an electroconductive metal wire in a coil on the outer peripheral surface of a central member formed by coating an elastic insulating material on a central reinforcing member formed of an aramid fiber. Thus, a pressure sensitive sensor which has a simple construction, can be produced easily and at low cost, is suitable for making a small sensor, and can appropriately function even if the sensor is warped or kinked at a sharp curvature.

  • Patent number: 6663208
Abstract: An ink-jet head controller generates drive waveforms selectively at predetermined print cycles to cause ink ejection from a cavity. A waveform generator generates a plurality of waveform signals, including a waveform signal extending over two adjacent print cycles, and a waveform selector selects and outputs to the ink-jet head one of a plurality of waveform signals, based on whether dot data for two adjacent print cycles indicates ink ejection. The waveform selector selects a waveform signal extending over two adjacent print cycles when dot data for a current print cycle indicates ink ejection while dot data for a next print cycle indicates no ink ejection. In addition, a plurality of drive pulses cause ejection of a plurality of ink droplets to form a dot outputted after a certain delay from the start of the current print cycle.
