  • Publication number: 20140153593
Abstract: A directed-energy irradiating apparatus invention includes a switch which selects one of an FEL apparatus and an HPM apparatus to be supplied with microwave based on external environmental data. A target is destroyed even in a situation that a destruction effect by a FEL beam cannot be expected, while maintaining the destruction ability for the target by the FEL beam.

  • Publication number: 20140153592
Abstract: A directed-energy irradiating apparatus includes an FEL apparatus 20 and an HPM apparatus 30. The FEL apparatus 20 accelerates free electrons by using microwave supplied from a microwave source to irradiate an FEL beam and outputs remaining microwave. The HPM apparatus irradiates an HPM beam generated based on the remaining microwave outputted from the FEL apparatus. It is possible to destroy a target even in a situation that a destruction effect by the FEL beam cannot expected, while maintaining the destruction ability of the FEL beam.

  • Publication number: 20140079189
Abstract: An X-ray generating device (10) is provided with an electron gun (12) that generates an electron beam, a linear accelerator (14) that accelerates, by means of microwaves, the electron beam generated by the electron gun (12), an X-ray target (16) that generates X-rays by being irradiated with the electron beam accelerated by the linear accelerator (14), a microwave generating device that generates microwaves to be introduced into the linear accelerator (14), and a pulse modulator that controls the microwave generating device so as to change the power of the microwaves. Because the linear accelerator (14) includes a plurality of buncher cavities (40), even if there are electrons that are shifted out of the acceleration phase when the power of the microwaves is decreased, these electrons can be accelerated in the acceleration phase of the next time period; therefore, a decrease in the intensity of an electron beam to be emitted is suppressed even if the power of the microwaves is decreased.

  • Patent number: 8562991
Abstract: The present invention provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising second-generation molecules that are superior than TOCILIZUMAB, by altering the amino acid sequences of the variable and constant regions of TOCILIZUMAB, which is a humanized anti-IL-6 receptor IgG1 antibody, to enhance the antigen-neutralizing ability and increase the pharmacokinetics, so that the therapeutic effect is exerted with a less frequency of administration, and the immunogenicity, safety and physicochemical properties (stability and homogeneity) are improved. The present invention also provides methods for producing these pharmaceutical compositions. The present inventors have successfully generated second-generation molecules that are superior to TOCILIZUMAB by appropriately combining amino acid sequence alterations in the CDR domains, variable regions, and constant regions.

  • Patent number: 7724250
Abstract: An information processing apparatus is provided which allows a user to easily and intuitively manipulate information in a 3-dimensional virtual space. In the information processing apparatus, a main controller sets a first coordinate system in a real space on the basis of information associated with a real object and further sets a second coordinate system in a 3-dimensional virtual space corresponding to the real space on the basis of the first coordinate system. If a user places an input device at a particular position and angle in the first coordinate system with reference to the real object, the main controller places an object in the 3-dimensional virtual space at a place and angle in the second coordinate system corresponding to the place and angle of the input device in the first coordinate system, and the main controller displays an image of the object placed in the 3-dimensional virtual space on a display.
