  • Patent number: 8593075
Abstract: A power distribution system includes a selectable gain value to generate a duty cycle modulated control signal to control current supplied to a load. In at least one embodiment, the power distribution system includes a controller and a switch, and the controller generates the duty cycle modulated control signal to control conductivity of the switch. The duty cycle modulated control signal has a period and a pulse width. In at least one embodiment, the controller determines the period of the control signal as a function of a peak allowable link current value (also referred to as a peak allowable output current value) of a switching power converter, an inductor flyback time of the switching power converter, and the gain value. The link current provides current to a load, such as a lighting system that includes light emitting diodes.

  • Publication number: 20130310770
Abstract: A device for dispensing fluid to a patient and indicating a fluid flow condition. The device includes a reservoir configured to provide a source of fluid under pressure. A continuous flow path in fluid communication with the source of fluid provides a continuous and substantially constant flow rate of fluid from the source to a patient. The device further includes at least one composition pulse flow sensor in fluid communication with the continuous flow path. The composition pulse flow sensor is configured to provide a signal that the flow rate of the fluid in the continuous flow path is different from a predetermined flow rate, thereby indicating a fluid flow condition.

  • Publication number: 20130310085
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems that may take advantage of unused space in general page messages (GPMs) by including multiple instances of a given page in the same GPM, in an effort to improve the chances that the intended mobile station receives the page. An exemplary paging method involves: (a) before a transmission of a general page message (GPM) that is formatted to include up to a maximum number of page records, making a determination that less than the maximum number of page records are scheduled to be included in the GPM; (b) in response to the determination, selecting, from the page records that are scheduled to be included in the GPM, at least one page record for which to include two or more instances in the GPM; and (c) transmitting the GPM, wherein two or more instances of the at least one selected page record are included in the transmission of the GPM.

  • Publication number: 20130283041
Abstract: In one implementation, a network device, which may be a wide area network (WAN) optimization device includes a memory, a communication interface, and a processor. The memory is configured to store a pool of server certificates. The communication interface is configured to receive a data flow for optimization by the network device. The processor is configured to access a reverse domain name lookup on a destination internet protocol (IP) address extracted from the data flow to receive a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). A matching server certificate is selected from the pool of server certificates that best matches the FQDN. The common name of the matching server certificate and the FQDN are not exact matches. Instead, the common name may be the longest string match available from the pool of certificates, or the common name may have the most address components in common out of the available pool of certificates.

Abstract: A two-dimensional canvas onto which heterogenic objects of various types may be arranged side-by-side. Each type of object has an associated set of control(s), the control(s) at least partially differing from one type to the next. The two-dimensional canvas is fixed in one dimension, but extensible in a second dimension. The canvas may be displayed in miniaturized for with a view box superimposed upon the canvas. As the view box is moved over the miniaturized canvas, the enlarged editable portion of the corresponding canvas is displayed in an edit view. The canvas may also display clusters of objects that are arranged in dashboards. • Patent number: 8565759
Abstract: In situations in which a wireless communication device (WCD) is likely to roam, a radio access network (RAN) serving the WCD may increase the extent of simultaneous communication between the RAN and the WCD. In this way, the WCD is more likely to receive sufficiently strong signals from at least one wireless coverage area with which the WCD is communicating, potentially resulting in a decrease of the likelihood that the WCD roams. A determination that the WCD is likely to roam may be based on, for example, historical roaming data that was collected during the WCD's previous session(s) with the RAN or other RANs.

  • Publication number: 20130266138
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing a content encryption key and a seed to generate the content encryption key are provided. In one example, a method may include receiving a request for a content encryption key at a content encryption key service. The request includes a requesting entity fingerprint that corresponds to a requesting entity and a seed identifier that corresponds to a seed. The seed identifier is mapped to the seed and the requesting entity fingerprint mapped to a corresponding seed permission. • Patent number: 8551026
Abstract: The gait monitor system and method provides various basic gait parameters including step count, cadence, and step duration, in addition to its ability to distinguish between normal, limping and shuffling gait modes, as well as determine falls. Moreover, this gait monitor may be provided with additional sensors, e.g. beam break at the beginning and end of a corridor to estimate average walking velocity (with the distance between the beams known or determined); this enables the calculation of additional gait characteristics such as average step length and average stride length. These parameters can additionally be used to detect various gait anomalies and other diagnostic information.
