  • Patent number: 8543971
Abstract: A method and system for defining an interface of a service in a service-oriented architecture environment. Definitions of atomic tasks of a request or response operation included in a service are received. Unique identifiers corresponding to the atomic tasks are assigned. A sequence map required to implement the service is received. The sequence map is populated with a sequence of the assigned unique identifiers corresponding to a sequence of the atomic tasks of the operation. At runtime, an interface of the service is automatically and dynamically generated to define the service by reading the sequence of unique identifiers in the populated sequence map and assembling the sequence of the atomic tasks based on the read sequence of unique identifiers.

  • Publication number: 20130247212
Abstract: An online services system includes a mechanism for providing user confidence information to an external data consumer, and for determining user contribution quality. Using stored information about user actions and interactions, user confidence is evaluated for one or more parameters associated with the validity of the user's account and/or quality of the user's contributions to the online services system. Confidence values are assigned to each parameter, and the values are exposed to external data consumers. Using stored information, user actions and interactions are correlated with contribution quality to produce a metric indicative of user contribution quality. Users with low quality parameter metrics may have their contributions shown to a smaller audience or have a lower prominence in a news feed.

  • Publication number: 20130219721
Abstract: A safety razor adapted to deliver a non-solid shaving aid material during normal use includes a handle, a razor cartridge and a reservoir for the shaving aid material in fluid communication with an applicator of the razor cartridge. A linkage extends from the reservoir to the razor cartridge. Pivotal movement of the razor cartridge away from its at-rest position causes the linkage to move relative to both the razor cartridge and the reservoir and in particular away from the reservoir. A plug of the linkage is removed from a vent aperture of the reservoir providing pressure relief for any partial vacuum caused from dispensing a portion of the shaving aid material. In the at-rest position the plug seals the vent and helps alleviate unwanted drooling of the shaving aid material when the safety razor is not in use.

  • Patent number: 8518391
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the treatment of a neurodegenerative disorder by isolating a plurality of monocytic cells and introducing a vector containing a gene that expresses a protease capable of degrading amyloid peptide into the isolated monocytic cells. The modified cells are then administered to the patient. Preferably the introduced gene is selected from the group consisting of neprilysin, insulin degrading enzyme and endothelin converting enzyme. The protease capable of degrading amyloid peptide is secreted from the monocytic cells into the extracellular space thereof. According to one variant, the gene that expresses a protease capable of degrading amyloid peptide is the NEP gene with a deletion in the membrane binding domain and/or an appended signal peptide to drive secretion of the modified gene product. This invention contemplates the use of heterologous and autologos (the monocytic cells are obtained from the patient) transplants.
