  • Patent number: 10621880
Abstract: A method of generating secondary questions in a question-answer system. Missing information is identified from a corpus of data using a computerized device. The missing information comprises any information that improves confidence scores for candidate answers to a question. The computerized device automatically generates a plurality of hypotheses concerning the missing information. The computerized device automatically generates at least one secondary question based on each of the plurality of hypotheses. The hypotheses are ranked based on relative utility to determine an order in which the computerized device outputs the at least one secondary question to external sources to obtain responses.

  • Patent number: 10624214
Abstract: Readily manufactured structures for sealing or encapsulating devices in system-in-a-package modules, such that the modules are easily assembled, have a low-profile, and are space efficient. One example may provide readily manufactured covers for SIP modules. These modules may be easily assembled by attaching the cover to a top side of a substrate. These SIP modules may have a low-profile, for example when their height is reduced using one or more recesses in a bottom surface of a top of the recess, where the one or more recesses are arranged to accept one or more components. These SIP modules may be made space efficient by placing an edge of a cover near an edge of the substrate and connecting the plating of the cover using side plating on, or vias through, the substrate.

  • Patent number: 10624018
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for selecting relay nodes for Single-User Multiple-Input-Multiple Output (SU-MIMO). A channel orthogonality and Signal-to-Interference-Plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) of a plurality of wireless devices located in a geographic area of an access node is determined. A relay-capable status of the plurality of wireless devices is determined. Non-relay capable wireless devices located in the geographic area are excluded from SU-MIMO. From the plurality of wireless devices, relay-capable wireless devices are selected for SU-MIMO. The selected relay-capable wireless devices are prioritized for SU-MIMO based on a channel orthogonality and SINR meeting a set threshold.

  • Publication number: 20200110996
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and a system where a processor(s), obtains content from a meeting hosting system during a pre-defined interval. The processor(s) parses the textual content to identify potential keywords. The processor(s) iteratively cognitively analyzes the potential keywords to determine which potential keywords comprise seed keywords, where the seed keywords meet a maturity threshold for inclusion in a data structure, where the iterative cognitive analysis of each potential keyword of the potential keywords is repeated a pre-defined number of times, and where the iteratively cognitively analyzing includes generating and updating the data structure. The processor(s) outputs, based on completing the pre-defined number of times, the data structure comprising the seed keywords.

  • Patent number: 10614507
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure enable contextual user experiences to be provided. A computing system receives sensor data from an appliance associated with a first user account, and analyzes the sensor data to identify a product and one or more second user accounts associated with the product. The second user accounts are used to aggregate product data associated with the product, and the product data is used to generate catalog data associated with the product. The catalog data includes one or more portions associated with the second user accounts and is transmitted to a client device associated with the first user account to prompt a first user to enter into a transaction associated with the product. Each portion of the catalog data is selectable to facilitate the transaction between the first user and a respective second user associated with the second user accounts.

  • Patent number: 10608851
Abstract: A continuous-time sampler has series-connected delay lines with intermediate output taps between the delay lines. Signal from an output tap can be buffered by an optional voltage buffer for performance. A corresponding controlled switch is provided with each output tap to connect the output tap to an output of the continuous-time sampler. The delay lines store a continuous-time input signal waveform within the propagation delays. Controlling the switches corresponding to the output taps with pulses that match the propagation delays can yield a same input signal value at the output. The continuous-time sampler effectively “holds” or provides the input signal value at the output for further processing without requiring switched-capacitor circuits that sample the input signal value onto some capacitor. In some cases, the continuous-time sampler can be a recursively-connected delay line. The continuous-time sampler can be used as the front end sampler in a variety of analog-to-digital converters.

  • Patent number: 10608567
Abstract: A propulsion system for a device having an electric motor configured to selectively provide a first torque contribution to propel the device. At least one sensor is configured to obtain a respective signal related to the electric motor. A controller is in communication with the sensors and configured to determine a magnet flux linkage (?m) based in part on the respective signal. The controller has a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded for a method of determining a demagnetized torque capability (TD) for the electric motor in real-time. In the event of a threshold level of demagnetization of the electric motor, the method estimates the torque capability in real time of the electric motor, taking the demagnetization level into account. At least one operating parameter of the device is controlled based at least partially on the demagnetized torque capability (TD).

  • Patent number: 10608959
Abstract: The disclosure provides an approach for managing and diagnosing middleboxes in a cloud computing system. In one embodiment, a network operations center, that is located remote to a virtualized cloud computing system and communicates with the cloud computing system via a wide area network, controls network middleboxes in the cloud computing system through a secure routing module inside a gateway of the cloud computing system. The secure routing module is configured to receive, from an authenticated management application and via a secure communication channel, packets intended for managing network middleboxes. In turn, the secure routing module establishes secure communication channels with the target middleboxes, translates the identified packets to protocols and/or application programming interfaces (APIs) of the target middleboxes, and transmits the translated packets to the target middleboxes.
