  • Publication number: 20130142511
Abstract: Techniques are provided to automatically configure packet based network services over Dense Wavelength Division Multiplex (DWDM) network communication links. An optical wavelength is detected at an optical interface of a network device configured to send traffic between a packet switched network and an optical network. A message is sent to an optical control plane comprising information configured to request optical configuration information for the optical wavelength. A response to the message is received comprising the optical configuration information and the wavelength is activated at the optical interface using the optical configuration information. A frame is received over the wavelength that is formatted according to an optical protocol. Packet switched network information is extracting from an overhead portion of the frame that is configured to identify network parameters for configuring a packet switched network link and the associated routing.

  • Patent number: 8434552
Abstract: Compositions containing an alkali swelling polymer and a pH buffer with a pH between 3 and 7 may be used to treat a wellbore. The pH buffer prevents the swelling of the alkali swellable polymer. The compositions may be placed in the wellbore, whereupon they contact another material with pH increasing properties. The pH of the compositions increases, causing the compositions to swell and form a seal. The alkali swelling polymer may be an alkali swelling latex.

  • Patent number: 8404159
Abstract: A composition suitable for fabricating an electronic device such as an OLED using an ink-jet printing technique comprises a conducting or semi-conducting organic material and a solvent, the solvent having a boiling point of greater than 250° C. and a viscosity of less than 5 cPs. The composition preferably has a viscosity in the range between 0.1 and 20 cPs, and the solvent preferably has the formula: where R represents a C6 to C11 alkyl. The high boiling point of the solvent allows the “ink” to remain wet for a longer time after printing. This provides better process control during drying, resulting in more uniform films and greater control over the film profile. The low viscosity of the solvent enables jetting of the composition at high frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8312921
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for treating a zone in a well is disclosed. A tube that is permeable to a material is inserted into a wellbore, creating an annulus inside the wellbore. Two zones—the annular region and the formation surrounding the wellbore—may be treated. The method comprises the following steps. (1) A setting section surrounded by a sleeve is placed inside the tube near the zone to treat, the sleeve being expandable and impermeable to the material. (2) The sleeve is inflated inside the tube near the zone to treat, ensuring that a first zone of the tube is impermeable to the material, but leaving a second zone permeable to the material. (3) A treatment fluid is pumped to the zone to treat, the treatment fluid passing into the annulus via the second zone. (4) The zone to treat is treated with the treatment fluid.
