Abstract: A washing machine appliance includes a tub and a rotatable basket therein. Methods of operating the washing machine appliance may include, and/or the washing machine appliance may be configured for, measuring a first inertia of a load of articles in the basket by rotating the basket at rotational speeds outside of a resonance speed zone. A water extraction operation is performed after measuring the first inertia of the load of articles. The water extraction operation includes rotating the basket at speeds outside of the resonance speed zone. A second inertia of the load of articles after the water extraction operation is measured by rotating the basket at rotational speeds outside of the resonance speed zone. A load type of the load of articles is determined based on the second inertia. The basket is rotated at speeds within the resonance speed zone only once prior to the water extraction operation.

  • Patent number: 12354514
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a display of a device are described herein. The display is configured to adjust the hue of the display depending on the ambient light conditions around the display. To assist a user of the device in determining a priority condition of the device, the device is configured to use color contrasts to focus the attention of the user to one or more icons on the display, thus prioritizing icons relative to other, lower priority icons associated with other conditions of the device. Additionally, the contrast used can be adjusted by the user to potentially account for varying degrees of color blindness. The display can be set to one or more test contrasts, whereby a user selects the contrast that works the best for the user.

  • Patent number: 12354156
Abstract: A system and method of data extraction is disclosed. An image file of a scan of a printed information list is received at a server via a network connection. When not in portable document format, the received image file is processed with an optical character recognition (OCR) engine at the server to identify all text therein and then the processed image file is stored in a memory. When in portable document format, the image file is processed using metadata and positional data at the server to generate sentences; process the sentences to identify prices, descriptions, items, and categories; link each identified item to an associated price, description, and category; and extract and link all modifiers from identified description, and then all identified and extracted information is stored in memory. A user interface is provided to a user via the server for graphically visualizing and editing a stored processed file.
