Patent number: 10856976Abstract: Embodiments of a radially collapsible and expandable prosthetic heart valve are disclosed. A valve frame can have a tapered profile when mounted on a delivery shaft, with an inflow end portion having a smaller diameter than an outflow end portion. The valve can comprise generally V-shaped leaflets, reducing material within the inflow end of the frame. An outer skirt can be secured to the outside of the inflow end portion of the frame, the outer skirt having longitudinal slack when the valve is expanded and lying flat against the frame when the valve is collapsed. A diagonally woven inner skirt can elongate axially with the frame. Side tabs of adjacent leaflets can extend through and be secured to window frame portions of the frame to form commissures. The window frame portions can be depressed radially inward relative to surrounding frame portions when the valve is crimped onto a delivery shaft.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2019Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: Edwards Lifesciences CorporationInventors: Tamir S. Patent number: 10813749Abstract: A docking device for a bioprosthesis is disclosed that can change shape and recover after a deforming stress is removed, that adjusts to surrounding conditions to accommodate different complex anatomic geometries, and that mitigates leakage around the bioprosthesis. The docking device can include a 3D woven fabric forming an internal surface, an outer surface, and a thickness therebetween. A filler can be coupled to the outer surface. A method for making a docking device is also provided. The method includes weaving a 3D woven fabric by interlacing a shape memory material, a low-melt thermoplastic polymer or resin having a melting point, and a high-tenacity biocompatible material; and pressing and heating the 3D woven fabric over a shape-setting mold at temperatures greater than the melting point of the low-melt thermoplastic polymer or resin.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2017Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Inventors: Son V. Patent number: 10820437Abstract: The document discloses a stretchable packaging system for a wearable electronic device. The system includes a first electronic component and a flexible trace connected to the first electronic component. An elastomer layer having a variable thickness at least partially encapsulates the first electronic component and the flexible trace. A first region of the layer has a first thickness that is greater than a second thickness of a second region of the layer that at least partially encapsulates the trace.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2016Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Aleksandar Aleksov, Son V. Patent number: 10770347Abstract: Low capacitance and high reliability interconnect structures and methods of manufacture are disclosed. The method includes forming a copper based interconnect structure in an opening of a dielectric material. The method further includes forming a capping layer on the copper based interconnect structure. The method further includes oxidizing the capping layer and any residual material formed on a surface of the dielectric material. The method further includes forming a barrier layer on the capping layer by outdiffusing a material from the copper based interconnect structure to a surface of the capping layer. The method further includes removing the residual material, while the barrier layer on the surface of the capping layer protects the capping layer.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2019Date of Patent: September 8, 2020Assignee: Tessera, Inc.Inventors: Daniel C. Publication number: 20200146819Abstract: The present invention relates to devices and methods for improving the function of a defective heart valve, and particularly for reducing regurgitation through an atrioventricular heart valveāi.e., the mitral valve or tricuspid valve. For a tricuspid repair, the device includes an anchor deployed in the tissue of the right ventricle, in an orifice opening to the right atrium, or anchored to the tricuspid valve. A flexible anchor rail connects to the anchor and a coaptation element on a catheter rides over the anchor rail. The catheter attaches to the proximal end of the coaptation element, and a locking mechanism fixes the position of the coaptation element relative to the anchor rail. A proximal anchoring feature fixes the proximal end of the coaptation catheter subcutaneously adjacent the subclavian vein. The coaptation element includes an inert covering and helps reduce regurgitation through contact with the valve leaflets.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2020Publication date: May 14, 2020Inventors: Vivian Khalil, Erin M. Patent number: 10617520Abstract: A method of implanting a prosthetic mitral heart valve includes advancing a guidewire through a femoral vein, an atrial septum, and a native mitral valve. A guide catheter is advanced over the guidewire and a delivery catheter is advanced through the guide catheter. A mitral valve assembly is disposed along a distal end of the delivery catheter. The mitral valve assembly includes a stent and a valve having three leaflets. The stent has a flared inlet end, an outlet end, and an intermediate portion with a plurality of prongs disposed along its outer surface. The mitral valve assembly is deployed with the flared inlet end positioned in a left atrium and the intermediate portion positioned between native mitral valve leaflets. The prongs penetrate surrounding tissue for preventing upward migration of the mitral valve assembly and the flared inlet end is shaped for preventing downward migration.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2017Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Edwards Lifesciences CorporationInventors: Stanton J.
