Abstract: A digital-to-analog conversion circuit includes a first digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a second DAC, and a control circuit to select which DAC to use for digital-to-analog conversion of a digital signal. Concerned with the noise level produced at a given out-of-band frequency, the control circuit bases its selection of DACs, at least in part, on a frequency distance between the given out-of-band frequency and the digital signal's frequency. The control circuit, for example, may select the DAC producing the lowest noise level at that frequency distance, or, if both DACs are able to reduce noise to a level below a noise tolerance specified for the frequency distance, the DAC consuming the least power. To reduce the chip area required for the digital-to-analog conversion circuit, the first and second DACs advantageously have topologies that permit them to share common components (e.g., DAC unit elements).

Abstract: A key selection vector for a revocation list in an HDCP system as well as a mobile device and a method for processing a key selection vector, a digital content output device using a key selection vector and a revocation list for use in an HDCP system comprising a key selection vector are described. It is desired to improve handling of key selection vectors of revocation lists. A structured key selection vector for a revocation list is provided. The key selection vector is structured to contain at least one bit field with a predetermined number of bits and at a predetermined location in the key selection vector. The bit field contains information relating to a group property of a device, which group property allows to process as a group a plurality of key selection vectors storing the same or similar group property information in said at least one bit field.

Abstract: Efficient carrier aggregation is enabled in a receiver employing a single frequency source, and dividing the frequency source by different frequency dividing factors to generate two or more RF LO frequencies. Received signals are down-converted to intermediate frequencies by mixing with the respective RF LO frequencies. By utilizing only a single high frequency source, embodiments of the present invention avoid spurious and injection locking issues that arise when integrating two or more frequency sources, and additionally reduce power consumption as compared to a multiple frequency source solution.

Abstract: A system and method for therapy and diagnosis of a human or animal. At least one coupling element for coupling of radiation couples radiation from at least a first radiation source to a tumor site and/or from said second radiation source to said site and/or from said site to a detector. The coupling elements are combinations of at least one translatory distributor, at least one rotary distributor, and at least one operation mode selector means for directing either said therapeutic radiation or said diagnostic radiation to said site through said at least one first radiation conductor. The system may be used for interactive interstitial photodynamic tumor therapy. The system and method according to the invention combines the advantages of purely mechanical and purely non-mechanical solutions in a new and synergetic way.

Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatuses for use in performing a quantitative analysis of a turbid pharmaceutical sample, e.g. a tablet, a capsule or a similar sample forming a pharmaceutical dose. A pharmaceutical, turbid sample (24, 57, 67) is irradiated with an excitation beam (20, 53, 64) of radiation, e.g. near infrared radiation. The intensity of emitted radiation (30) from the sample (24, 57, 67) is detected as function of both the wavelength of the emitted radiation and the photon propagation time through said sample (24, 57, 67). Optionally, the intensity of the emitted radiation (30) from the sample (24, 57, 67) is also detected in a spatially resolved manner.

Abstract: A method for utilizing a secure memory in an electronic device for launching/running an application may include copying at least a portion of the application into the secure memory of the electronic device, and permanently storing the at least one portion of the application in the secure memory. The permanent storage of the at least one portion of the application in the secure memory obviates the need re-copy the application to the secure memory if/when the application is subsequently executed by the electronic device.

Abstract: Methods and devices provide dynamic security management in an apparatus, such as a mobile telephone terminal. The apparatus includes a platform for running an application; a security manager for handling access of the application to functions existing in the apparatus; an application interface (API) between the platform and the application; a set of access permissions stored in the apparatus and used by the security manager for controlling access of the application to functions through the application interface. Methods can include downloading into the apparatus an object containing access permissions applicable to at least one function; verifying the object; and installing the access permissions together with the existing permissions.

Abstract: An air-bag cover arrangement is disclosed which comprises a moveable cover element (25) for covering an air-bag module (5), and design element (15) which is positioned adjacent the cover element. The design element has an overlapping part (16) which overlaps part of the cover element. The arrangement is characterised in that the cover element is moveable relative to the design element but is held by a stop element (18) in a rest position in which the cover element does not contact the overlapping part of the design element but rather a space from the design element.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel method for handling applications in a device by associating an application signed by a domain certificate to a pre-defined entity in a device, said device comprising: a module reader for reading subscriber identity, a virtual machine for running at least one application, a memory containing a root certificate, the method comprising: using a data set for aggregating a sub set of data, modifying portion of said data set such that said portion includes reference to said entity. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the method.

Abstract: The invention relates to a payment method for content, e.g. a content item protected by a Digital Rights Management (DRM) scheme. The content item contains a payment directive that automatically invokes a payment procedure before the content item may be used. The payment directive specifies how to utilise payment methods in the wireless network in order to grant access to the content downloaded in the device. The content item may be downloaded first but is not enabled until a payment has been initiated. The invention also relates to mobile equipment implementing the method and the corresponding content item.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing replay protection integrity protection of a database accessible by an electronic device is provided, wherein the database is capable of protecting a plurality of records. When at least one protected record in the database is modified in an authorized manner, a record tag corresponding to the at least one protected record is stored in the database, and the at least one protected record and the corresponding record tag are copied into a cache. Upon retrieval of the at least one protected record from the database, the copied record tag stored in the cache is compared with the corresponding record tag stored in the database. Use of the retrieved protected record is inhibited if the copied record tag stored in the cache does not correspond to the record tag stored in the database, and otherwise use of the retrieved protected record is enabled.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of protecting the integrity of a database is provided. Protection of the database is implemented by randomly selecting part of the database that is to be authenticated, the part of the database being less than the entire database to be authenticated. Then, only the selected part of the database is processed through a security function to generate a representation of authentication of the database for comparison with another representation of authentication of the database. Based on a comparison of the representation of authentication and the another representation of authentication, it is determined if integrity of the database has been maintained.

Abstract: A transmitting unit includes a transmitter for transmitting signals of coded information about a position close to the unit in a space substantially unreachable by a satellite-based navigating system so as to provide a receiver arranged on a moving object present in the space with the position information for determining the position of the object. The transmitter is adapted to normally be in an inactive non-transmitting state, and the unit further includes a detector adapted to detect movement of an object within a space and activate the transmitter to transmit signals only when movement of an object in the space is detected.

Abstract: An afterburner fuel-feed arrangement including an elongate fuel spraybar for distributing fuel to the afterburner section of a turbo-combustion engine. The spraybar includes a fuel-receiving spray head in fluid communication with a plurality of elongate fuel pipes, which are surrounded by an elongate, aerodynamic-shaped shroud. The surrounded fuel pipes project into an interior through-core of the engine. The shroud has an interior lateral sidewall that includes a pipe-receiving portion configured to abuttingly engage a corresponding shroud-engaging portion of an exterior surface of one of the fuel pipes. The pipe-receiving portion is configured to substantially radially fix a fuel pipe received therein relative to the shroud, thus supporting and bracing the pipe and raising the eigenfrequencies of the assembly into ranges higher than those of the incorporating engine.

Abstract: A method and an electronic apparatus for rolling over from a first to second trusted certificate in the electronic apparatus. Information containing identification data for identifying the second trusted certificate is acquired in the electronic apparatus. Also, the second trusted certificate, which is preinstalled in the electronic apparatus, is activated based on said identification data.

Abstract: An air-bag arrangement is disclosed which comprises an air-bag (21), an aperture (22) communicating with the interior of the air-bag (21), and a gas generator (23) to generate gas to inflate the air-bag (21). The gas generator (23) is mounted for pivotal movement about a pivot axis extending across the aperture (22) so that the gas generator (23) is pivotally moveable between a closed position in which at least part of the gas generator (23) extends across the aperture (22), to close the aperture (22), and an open position in which said aperture (22) is opened to permit the flow of gas from the air-bag (21).

Abstract: The invention provides a highly efficient technique for encoding a multi-channel audio signal. The invention relies on the basic principle of encoding a first signal representation of one or more of the multiple channels in a first encoder (130) and encoding a second signal representation of one or more of the multiple channels in a second, multi-stage, encoder (140). This procedure is significantly enhanced by providing a controller (150) for adaptively allocating a number of encoding bits among the different encoding stages of the second, multi-stage, encoder (140) in dependence on multi-channel audio signal characteristics.

Then, it is verified by means of the security mechanism whether any of the updating data and the meta data has been unauthorizedly altered. A method and an arrangement for generating the updating data and the meta data are also disclosed.

Abstract: An air-bag arrangement includes an air-bag and a gas generator to supply gas to inflate the air-bag. The gas generator is hingedly connected to a support and is hingedly movable between a closed position in which the gas generator extends across and closes an aperture, and a second position in which the apertured is opened to permit the flow of gas from the air-bag. The gas generator is initially retained in position by a retainer the retainer being actuable, in response to a signal, to enable the gas generator to move hingedly to the open position.
