Abstract: A method for changing an operating mode of a mobile device is provided. According to the method, a request from the user of the mobile device to change from a first operating mode to a second operating mode is received. In response to the received request a credential is requested from the user. Next, the credential (RCK) is received from the user and validated. If the received credential (RCK) is valid, the second operating mode is set and an indication of the mobile device indicating that the second operating mode has been set is set. If the second operating mode has been set, a reset of the indication is prohibited.

Abstract: A method of scheduling wireless data transmissions between a mobile terminal (701) and a base station using multiple component carrier signals is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: receiving in the mobile terminal information from the base station indicating available component carriers; detecting in the mobile terminal at least one dynamic parameter indicative of the mobile terminal's current ability to handle component carriers having non-contiguous bandwidths; determining in the mobile terminal in dependence of the at least one dynamic parameter which of the available component carriers to utilize; and transmitting from the mobile terminal to the base station information indicating the component carriers determined to utilize.

Abstract: A method for storing and updating digital certificates in a flash memory, a flash memory, and an electronic apparatus exploiting the method are disclosed. The method is applicable for a flash memory having predefined erase-write blocks and write-read blocks, for enhancing the tampering proof characteristics of the flash memory. The certificates may be used to authenticate a computer program and may be verified by a verification program associated with the computer program. The method may include defining a plurality of memory slots within at least one erased erase-write block wherein each memory slot have a commencing address comprising a binary “0”- or a binary “1” bit pattern, writing a first and second digital certificate in a first and second one of the memory slots, defining a certificate slot address pointer, and updating the certificate slot address pointer by replacing said “0”- or “1”-bit pattern of the pointer with a “1”- or a “0” bit pattern, respectively.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel method for handling applications in a device by associating an application signed by a domain certificate to a pre-defined entity in a device, said device comprising: a module reader for reading subscriber identity, a virtual machine for running at least one application, a memory containing a root certificate, the method comprising: using a data set for aggregating a sub set of data, modifying portion of said data set such that said portion includes reference to said entity. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the method.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a digital signature is disclosed. Upon receipt of request for a digital signature within a customer computer, a Mobile electronic transaction proxy within the customer PC notifies a web browser of the request for the digital signature and assists in obtaining a digital signature on a data string included within the request. After the digital signature is obtained, the data string along with an appended digital signature is transmitted back to a requesting party.

Abstract: A wireless communication device provides a method of certificate-based access control. Particularly, the device establishes a secure communications session with a device management server. Rather than use access control lists to control access to the functions and services on the device, however, the device uses the certificate that was employed to establish the secure session to control access.

Abstract: A method and system for luminescence molecular imaging or tomography of a region of interest in a scattering medium is disclosed. The system comprises a non-linear luminescent marker material arranged in the scattering medium. Contrast and resolution of the imaging or tomography is thus improved. The non-linear marker is for instance configured to upconvert incoming light of an illumination wavelength. The non-linear power dependence of the marker enables further improvement of the imaging by using images taken with two or more excitation beams simultaneously.

Abstract: An existing communications device, such as a WAP-enabled mobile phone or other device, can be used as an authentication token. This has the advantage that WAP-enabled devices include components which are used in public key/private key cryptographic systems as a part of their standard communication functions. These components therefore advantageously allow the device to be used as an authentication token when communicating with a remote server.

Abstract: Authentication of an electronic communication apparatus capable of communicating data messages with a server according to a synchronization protocol includes providing an authentication method indicator that specifies an authentication method according to which the authentication is to be executed. The authentication method indicator is incorporated into a message that includes a plurality of authentication capabilities of the communication apparatus. The message is transmitted to the server according to an authentication protocol of the synchronization protocol.

Abstract: Method, apparatus and stamp for aligning a first surface (11) of a first object (10) with a second surface (22) of a second object (20), facing said first surface, wherein light of a predetermined wavelength is introduced into one (10) of said objects and caused to propagate by internal reflection therein. The first and second surfaces carry correlating structures (13,25) which, when arranged at close distance from each other, couple light from said one object to the other of said objects by near-field tunneling, to a degree dependent on the overlap of said structures. A light detector (26) is devised to detect a signal which is dependent on the amount of light coupled between said objects, for producing an alignment control signal. The invention is suitable for use in nanoimprint lithography.

Abstract: An attachment bracket for fastening an airbag to a vehicle structure includes an opening into which a strap connected to the airbag can be inserted, and a clamping surface provided for resting against the vehicle structure. The attachment bracket is formed from at least a first layer forming the clamping surface and a second layer spaced from the first layer in a spring elastic manner. The first and the second layers can be located on the same side of the vehicle structure. The attachment bracket can be fastened to the vehicle structure by a fastening means. The distance between the first and the second layer can be reduced by fastening the attachment bracket with the fastening means. A clamping force acting between the first layer and the vehicle structure can be generated by reducing the distance.

Abstract: A method and a filter element for preventing scraping/clipping of the information content of a database used for providing a website with data information. When a data record set from the database has been received, the filter splits all elements/fields of the data record set in a predetermined way into cells and a sortid is provided. Each cell is encoded into a markup language, wherein location information in the cell is used for generating a location value. The encoded cells are sorted into a file to establish a file, e.g. web page, wherein the encoded data cells are distributed in an arbitrary order.

Abstract: A first signal representation of one or more of the multiple channels is encoded in a first encoding process, and a second signal representation of one or more of the multiple channels is encoded in a second, filter-based encoding process. Filter smoothing can be used to reduce the effects of coding artifacts. However, conventional filter smoothing generally leads to a rather large performance reduction and is therefore not widely used. It has been recognized that coding artifacts are perceived as more annoying than temporary reduction in stereo width, and that they are especially annoying when the coding filter provides a poor estimate of the target signal; the poorer the estimate, the more disturbing artifacts. Therefore, signal-adaptive filter smoothing is introduced in the second encoding process or a corresponding decoding process.

Abstract: A method and arrangement for providing information to a client (200) from a client access network (202) regarding a requested set of users (204), at least some of which are connected to other access networks (206). In response to a client subscription request, the client access network establishes a network subscription with the other access networks. Abstract: An air-bag cover arrangement is disclosed which comprises a moveable cover element (25) for covering an air-bag module (5), and design element (15) which is positioned adjacent the cover element. The design element has an overlapping part (16) which overlaps part of the cover element. The arrangement is characterised in that the cover element is moveable relative to the design element but is held by a stop element (18) in a rest position in which the cover element does not contact the overlapping part of the design element but rather a space from the design element.
