Abstract: Polyolefins, especially polypropylene, can be made flame retardant by the incorporation therein of a synergistic mixture of a selected hindered amine substituted by an alkoxy, cycloalkoxy or hydroxyalkoxy moiety and a selected organic or inorganic brominated and/or phosphorus containing flame retardant, such as ammonium polyphosphate or decabromodiphenyl oxide wherein the amount of organic or inorganic flame retardant required to achieve an acceptable level of flame retardancy is significantly reduced compared to that needed when the hindered amine is not present.

Abstract: A high voltage switching apparatus delivers kV pulses to a load such as a magnetron. The switching apparatus comprises a switching stack surrounded by capacitors and both arranged within a housing. Lt power is supplied to the stack, e.g. for control electronics, by magnetic coupling across a non-conducting wall of the housing. Annular inserts are arranged on either side of the wall. Each insert receives a transformer core and winding. The bottom surfaces of the inserts carry a conductive coating to minimise electric stresses. Ht power is also supplied through the wall.

Contents to be protected include foodstuffs, beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care products, shampoos and the like.

The remote Ethernet device serves as an Ethernet bridge for a neighborhood service area. The remote Ethernet device communicates with a plurality of customer premises modems in the neighborhood service area using an Internet Protocol over an Ethernet standard with a digital subscriber line physical layer. An Ethernet switch disposed at a central office communicates with the remote Ethernet device via a fiber optic medium using an Internet Protocol over a second Ethernet standard. The Ethernet switch provides a packet data core network termination.

The grip rings are held together in an opposing relationship such that outer surfaces thereof define a groove for receiving an edge of a substrate. The grip rings may be O-rings formed of a rubber material. In one embodiment, the grip rings are held together by lower and upper clamp plates that are adjustably fastened together so that the clamping forces exerted on the substrate can be controlled. The upper clamp plate may have a height adjustment knob for adjusting the height of the edge roller assembly mounted thereon.
