  • Publication number: 20050240625
Abstract: A scalable fulfillment system is presented that supports business processes, manages the transport and processing of business-related messages or documents between a business entity and clients, such as customers, vendors, and business partners, and generally supports business document processing. The system intelligently manages the transportation of files from clients, through processing of files, to generating responses that return to the clients. To accommodate a heterogeneous interfacing and processing with different clients in a central system, a file normalization technique is used that captures a common meta-data format from the numerous heterogeneous file types used by numerous clients. The meta-data files, also referred to as messages, contain links to their associated data files and are processed separately.

  • Publication number: 20050180584
Abstract: A speaker apparatus having an audio frequency input interface, a control circuit, a plurality of sounders, and a plurality of luminants is provided. Wherein, after an audio frequency signal is input from the audio frequency input interface, the input signal is amplified by the control circuit and then output to the sounders. The sounders generate sounds according to the signal output from the control circuit. In addition, each sounder also corresponds to a luminant. The corresponding luminant is illuminated while the sounder is sounding. Therefore, the speaker apparatus of the present invention provides fancy visual effects while playing the sounds.

  • Publication number: 20050165641
Abstract: A system and method to associate a gift certificate with an email address is useful to permit on-line merchants to provide gift certificates that may be trusted while remaining used to customers. A gift certificate is purchased on-line and associated with a recipient's e-mail address provided by the gift certificate purchaser. An e-mail message containing confirm information used to authenticate the identity of the recipient is subsequently provided. This e-mail message may be sent when the gift certificate is purchased. This e-mail message may also be sent when a printed gift certificate is redeemed. The recipient of the gift certificate returns this confirmation information to complete the authentication process of the recipient's e-mail address. All subsequent activity of related to the use of the gift certificate may be authenticated using the e-mail address once confirmed.

  • Patent number: 6908499
Abstract: A cold trap having improved trapping efficiency for particles, particularly ammonium chloride fine powder particles. The cold trap has a dual-stage design, including an upstream stage fitted with at least one trap plate and a downstream stage fitted with a typically cup- or cone-shaped trap core in which is provided a conically-spiraled water cooling coil. A decreasing temperature gradient is provided along the length of the cold trap, such that exhaust gases flowing through the cold trap are gradually cooled and ammonium chloride or other particles which form from the gas are trapped by the trap plate or plates and collect in the trap core. The exhaust gases exiting the downstream end of the trap core are substantially or completely devoid of particles.

  • Patent number: 6881648
Abstract: A semiconductor wafer (70) that includes a support body (72), at least one thin die (20, 60), and a plurality of tethers (78, 178). The support body (72) is made of a semiconductor material. The thin die (20, 60) has a circuit (21) formed thereon and has an outer perimeter (74) defined by an open trench (76). The open trench (76) separates the thin die (20, 60) from the support body (72). The tethers (78, 178) extend across the open trench (76) and between the support body (72) and the thin die (20, 60). A method of making a thin die (20, 60) on a wafer (70) where the wafer (70) has a support body (72), a topside (82) and a backside (90). A circuit (21) is formed on the topside (82) of the wafer (70).

  • Publication number: 20050002447
Abstract: A spread spectrum receiver processes signals from a plurality of sources modulated by different spread spectrum codes by sampling the signals as received to produce an integer series of sampling segments at a sampling rate at least twice a chip rate of the codes, each sampling segment containing an integer number of bits representing a fraction of a chip of the codes, time division multiplexing each sample segment into a number of channels, correlating the bits in each sample segment in each channel in parallel with a source specific series of locally generated sequential code samples differing by one bit, summing each parallel correlation, and accumulating the summed parallel correlations for each code sample in each channel at a rate at least equal to the chip rate to derive data related to each of the sources.

  • Publication number: 20040202235
Abstract: A terrestrial C/A code GPS receiver system digitally samples, filters and stores a segment of 11 half chips of the received composite as a binary number and multiplexes this number for parallel correlation with each of a series of multibit code replicas for the satellites to be tracked. Each of the time delay specific correlation products are accumulated in a cell of a memory matrix so that at least twenty two delays for each satellite may be evaluated each code period providing fast reacquisition, even within a city intersection, as well as correction of multipath tracking and multipath interference. All cells of the memory matrix may be used for an acquisition of a single satellite in about 4 ms. Two satellite tracking, in addition to altitude hold, uses cross track hold alternating with clock hold to update the cross track estimate. Single satellite tracking uses cross track and clock hold together. Navigation data is updated with detected changes in motion including turns.
