    Abstract: An engine cooling fan control strategy includes measuring an engine coolant temperature using a sensor connected to the engine, measuring an engine oil temperature using a sensor connected to the engine, selecting a first value from a maximum engine coolant temperature threshold calibration curve stored in the control system based on the engine oil temperature, selecting a second value from a minimum engine coolant temperature threshold calibration curve stored in the control system based on the engine oil temperature, and placing the engine cooling fan in driven relationship with the engine when the engine coolant temperature exceeds the first value, and placing the engine cooling fan in non-driven relationship with the engine when the engine coolant temperature drops below the second value.

In this manner, the optical fiber stub pre-installed in the ferrule bore can be fusion spliced with the field optical fiber to terminate a fiber optic cable.

The breaking can include propagating a crack across the optical fiber. The crack can be positioned in sufficiently close proximity to the cross-sectional region so that the multi-axial compressive stress restricts the crack from penetrating the cross-sectional region. At least a portion of the optical fiber may be in tension during the breaking.

    Abstract: In one example of a vertical load case packer, guide rods provide horizontal adjustment of a tipping conveyor assembly to position the tipping conveyor assembly at a desired distance from the at least one bucket assembly. In operation, an indexing assembly advances case(s) into the tipping conveyor assembly. Side belts in the tipping conveyor assembly move and grip the case(s). A pivot rotates the tipping conveyor from a position wherein an open end of a case is oriented upwardly to a position wherein the open end is oriented horizontally to receive the product. Each bucket assembly receives product and delivers it to a case. A sliding bottom plate in the bucket assembly supports horizontally loaded product and advances the product into a case. A pusher plate prevents product from withdrawing from the case as the sliding bottom plate is withdrawn and further inserts the product into the case if needed.
