  • Publication number: 20190215054
Abstract: A method for receiving data, by an end-STA from a root AP, may comprise receiving, from a relay AP, a first beacon frame comprising a relay information element. The relay information element may include a field which indicates whether a root AP BSSID field indicating a BSSID of the root AP is included in the beacon frame. The end-STA may transmit an association request to the relay AP and may receive an association response from the relay AP if the relay AP is allowed by the root AP to associate with the end-STA. The end-STA may receive, from the relay AP, traffic indication map (TIM) indications, of which at least one of the TIM indications may be for the end-STA. The one of the TIM indications may indicate that the data is available for the end-STA. The end-STA may then receive the data from the relay AP.

  • Patent number: 10334626
Abstract: Enhanced protocols and devices may be used to alleviate loss of spectrum efficiency in wideband transmission. The protocols may implement a wideband transmission opportunity (TXOP) truncation where one or more of the channels involved in communication over the wideband are released. In one scenario, an access point (AP) may receive, from a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU), a first CF-End frame that includes a duration field and a basic service set identifier (BSSID) field that includes an individual/group bit. On a condition that the individual/group bit of the BSSID field has a value of one (1), the AP may determine that a scrambling sequence of the first CF-End frame indicates a bandwidth associated with a transmit opportunity (TXOP) being truncated by the WTRU. The AP may then transmit a second CF-End frame at the bandwidth indicated by the scrambling sequence of the first CF-End frame.

  • Publication number: 20190174407
Abstract: A method and apparatus may be used for assigning groups of stations in wireless communications to one or more groups. Groups may be assigned by an access point (AP) based on information received from a station (STA). Group information may be signaled to each station and a group identifier may be indicated in a frame. The group information may be applied to a performance enhancement, for example power savings for the station, wherein the station enters a power saving mode on a condition that the station determines that it is not a member of the group.

  • Publication number: 20190028915
Abstract: A method for MU MIMO channel sounding by a STA includes receiving, from an AP, sounding information including an indication of a first STA of a group of STAs to transmit feedback and training symbols. The method further includes receiving, from the AP, a frame addressed to the group of STAs, wherein the frame includes a PHY preamble including group identification information identifying the group of STAs. The group identification information enables another STA not in the group of STAs, that receives the frame, to set its network allocation vector (NAV) timer based on a duration field in the frame. On a condition the STA is a first STA in the order of the group of STAs, a first sounding response frame may be transmitted to the AP, wherein the first sounding response frame includes quantized sounding feedback determined from the received training symbols.

  • Publication number: 20180324880
Abstract: A method and apparatus may be used to establish a communication link between devices such as VHT access points (APs) or VHT wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs). For example, an AP or a WTRU may transmit management action request frames such as Association, Direct Link Setup (DLS) or Tunneled Direct Link Setup (TDLS) request frames. The management action frame may include VHT Capability information of the AP or the WTRU. In response to the management action request frame, the receiving AP or WTRU may transmit management action response frames to establish a communication link. Existing 802.11 management action frames may be used to include the VHT Capability information. The VHT Capability information may be used to implement various VHT features such as channel configurations or Beamforming.

  • Publication number: 20180322099
Abstract: A messaging system supports a presentation session with participants of the presentation, a presenter and one or more audience members. The message system allows the participants to share messages and documents via respective client/mobile devices. An application on each mobile device allows the audience member to peruse and comment on document portions (e.g., pages, images, or slides) being presented. The presentation sequence for the document portions can be managed by the presenter, or document perusal can be decoupled from the presentation sequence to allow audience members to focus on past or future document portions. Comments of the audience member or other participants can be linked to corresponding document portions.
