  • Publication number: 20170230999
Abstract: A method and apparatus for uplink transmission over a non-contentious shared feedback channel are disclosed, wherein the parameters of the uplink transmission are determined by the parameters of a downlink transmission. A new uplink channel, called a physical shared uplink feedback channel (PSUFCH) is used for uplink transmission such as feedback information in response to a downlink transmission on a fast shared data channel. The content of the feedback information may be general, e.g. an ACK/NACK or a channel quality indicator (CQI). The PSUFCH is transmitted using power ramping that terminates upon reception of a downlink ACK (DLACK) from a Node-B. No ambiguity resolution is required due to the non-contentious and deterministic mapping of the uplink channel resources.

  • Patent number: 9693303
Abstract: A method and apparatus may be used for assigning groups of stations in wireless communications to one or more groups. Groups may be assigned by an access point (AP) based on information received from a station (STA). Group information may be signaled to each station and a group identifier may be indicated in a frame. The group information may be applied to a performance enhancement, for example power savings for the station, wherein the station enters a power saving mode on a condition that the station determines that it is not a member of the group.

The method may comprise monitoring a plurality of frequency bands including a first band and a second band. A first beacon may be received on the first band and a determination may be made, based on the received first beacon, of a first beacon period start time. The first beacon period start time may correspond to beacons transmitted by the second TRU. A second beacon period start time may be determined, based on the received first beacon, wherein the second beacon period start time corresponds to a beacon for transmission by the first TRU. A beacon signal may be transmitted in a second band, by the first TRU, wherein the beacon signal is timing aligned with beacon signals of the second TRU. The first band and the second band may be adjacent radio bands.

  • Publication number: 20170127310
Abstract: A method for MU MIMO channel sounding by a STA includes receiving, from an AP, sounding information including an indication of a first STA of a group of STAs to transmit feedback and training symbols. The method further includes receiving, from the AP, a frame addressed to the group of STAs, wherein the frame includes a PHY preamble including group identification information identifying the group of STAs. The group identification information enables another STA not in the group of STAs, that receives the frame, to set its network allocation vector (NAV) timer based on a duration field in the frame. On a condition the STA is a first STA in the order of the group of STAs, a first sounding response frame may be transmitted to the AP, wherein the first sounding response frame includes quantized sounding feedback determined from the received training symbols.
