  • Publication number: 20150181493
Abstract: A UE does not immediately perform handover after receiving a handover command from a serving base station, but instead backups that message and continuously compares the signal strength of a serving base station and the signal strength of a target base station and performs a handover to the target base station at the best timing when handover is required. Once the timing of handover is determined, the UE transmits a handover indication message to the serving base station, and thereafter the UE performs a handover to the target base station.

  • Publication number: 20150124646
Abstract: A D2D (Device-to-Device) communication method is provided which enables a first terminal of a first group to directly communicate with other terminals of the first group without relay of a base station. The first terminal receives first data from a second terminal. The first terminal determines whether the first data is destined for the first group by using a group identifier of the first data. When the first data is destined for the first group, the first terminal identifies at least one first RLC entity, among multiple RLC (Radio Link Control) entities, that corresponds to the second terminal by using the source terminal identifier of the first data.

  • Publication number: 20150119055
Abstract: A D2D (Device-to-Device) discovery method is provided which enables a first terminal within a first cell to discover a second terminal within a second cell without relay of a base station. The first terminal receives, from a first base station of the first cell, information about a first resource for D2D discovery through a SIB (System Information Block) or RRC (Radio Resource Control) message. The first terminal transmits a D2D discovery signal using the first resource.

  • Publication number: 20140169265
Abstract: A communication method of a terminal and a base station including a relay is provided. When the terminal attempts a connection to the base station, relays on a communication path include and transmit identifiers thereof in a first message, and the relays and the base station can simply set a communication path to the terminal. When the base station transmits data to the terminal, if the base station includes and transmits an identifier of the terminal in the data, each relay that is located on a communication path forwards data through a preset communication path.

  • Publication number: 20140153423
Abstract: A method for handover of a terminal using a multi-connection in a cellular communication system is disclosed. The method for handover according to the present invention includes a multi-connection setting procedure of setting a connection to a second base station in addition to a connection to a first base station according to movement of a terminal in a direction from the first base station to the second base station, and a connection release procedure of releasing the connection to the first base station. Specifically, the present invention may be applied in a multi-beam management environment of super high frequency (SHF) and extremely high frequency (EHF) bandwidths, and may obtain an effect of decreasing signaling overhead and process latency of a conventional handover method.

  • Publication number: 20140120926
Abstract: Provided is an operation method of a cellular telecommunication system for operating multiple beams. In an operation method of a base station, a beam identifier (ID) is allocated to each of the multiple beams, and a terminal reports a beam ID of a selected beam to the base station. When the operation method of the cellular telecommunication system is used, the base station can rapidly sense the entry of the terminal into a specific beam area. Even when the terminal moves between beam areas, it is possible to rapidly make a beam area change with a minimum overhead without performing random access again or performing a complex procedure such as a handover procedure.

  • Publication number: 20140113545
Abstract: Provided are a wireless relaying method, a method of controlling a relay mode, and a wireless relay apparatus using the wireless relaying method. The wireless relaying method of a relay node (RN) includes operating in an amplify-and-forward (AF) mode of amplifying and forwarding a received signal upon setup, broadcasting identifier (ID) information on the RN, and, when a mode change message is received from an evolved node-B (eNB), changing an operating mode to a decode-and-forward (DF) mode. Accordingly, it is possible to improve resource efficiency while having an advantage of minimum delay time for relay.

  • Publication number: 20120235626
Abstract: A battery charging apparatus includes a converting unit, first and second charging units and a switching unit. The converting unit separately convert AC power into a first voltage and a second voltage. The first charging unit drops the converted first voltage and charge a high voltage battery with the dropped first voltage. The second charging unit drops the converted second voltage or a third voltage of the high voltage battery, and charges an auxiliary battery with the dropped second or third voltage. The switching unit performs, in a first mode, the charging of the high voltage battery and the auxiliary battery by the AC power, and in a second mode, stops the charging of the high voltage battery by the AC power and performs the charging of the auxiliary battery by the third voltage.
