Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transmitting a dedicated physical data channel signal over a dedicated physical data channel in the absence of transmission data to be transmitted over the dedicated physical data channel in order to properly maintain a target SIR (Signal-to-Interference Ratio) when there exists new transmission data after the absence of the transmission data in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile communication system. The method comprises generating a dummy bit generation request signal in the absence of the transmission data; and upon receipt of the dummy bit generation request signal, generating a dummy bit stream, and transmitting a dedicated physical data channel signal created by attaching the CRC bit stream to the dummy bit stream.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for updating firmware of terminals in a mobile broadcast system including a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation fragment (BSDA) and a Broadcast service Subscription Management (BSM). The method includes requesting creation of a content fragment, by the BSM, by transmitting a firmware package file for a firmware update of the terminals to the BSDA; creating a content fragment including the firmware package file and broadcasting the created content fragment to the terminals by the BSDA; detecting the firmware package file from the received content fragment; and performing the firmware update using the firmware package file.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a personalized service in a broadcasting system, and a system thereof. A BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) sends a service creation request message to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSDA), the service creation request message including at least one purchase data fragment to which maximum allowed content and maximum allowed service elements are added. The BSDA creates a service guide using the purchase data fragments, and delivers it to a terminal. The terminal checks a service type in the service guide, sends a subscription request for the personalized service to the BSM, receives an encryption key associated with the personalized service, and receives the personalized service with the encryption key.

Abstract: A method and mobile communication system for providing a user defined bundle in a terminal of a mobile broadcast system are provided. The method includes receiving a service guide from a BroadCAST (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSDA), creating a user defined bundle based on a content or a service desired by a user, including the user defined bundle in a user defined bundle subscription request message and transmitting the user defined bundle subscription request message to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM), and receiving from the BSM a user defined bundle subscription response message in which a user defined bundle subscription and a purchase complete message is included.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing tokens for Digital Rights Management (DRM) in a terminal are provided. In the method, at least one token is acquired from a Rights Issuer (RI), and the token is moved to a Secure Removable Media (SRM) through a token move request message. The token can be shared by several terminals.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a broadcast service in a communication system is provided. The method includes creating a seed key pair including a first key and a second key, transmitting the seed key pair to a terminal to which the broadcast service is to be provided, creating a certain number of encryption keys using the seed key pair, the certain number corresponding to a lifetime of the seed key pair, encrypting broadcast service data for the lifetime using the encryption keys, and broadcasting the encrypted broadcast service data.

Abstract: A method of updating software of terminals in a mobile broadcast system is provided. The method includes creating an update command for terminals of a particular model, the update command including update information; and broadcasting the created update command. The update information includes software version information and at least one of terminal manufacturer information and terminal model information. Further, the method may further include, before broadcasting the created update command, forcibly requiring terminals subscribe to an update service; and creating and broadcasting an update file for terminals of the particular model from among the forcibly subscribed terminals. The software of the terminals may be firmware.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a controller for a cardiopulmonary resuscitation apparatus. Automation and precise control can be realized in the cardiopulmonary resuscitation apparatus by using a driving unit involving in constricting the chest band of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation apparatus, locking, and pressing the chest by air pressure, and a control unit controlling the driving unit according to a control signal. Further, air pressure used in driving the cardiopulmonary resuscitation apparatus is controlled so as to be also supplied to a line of artificial respiration, such that a simple construction of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation apparatus and automation of artificial respiration are obtained. Thanks to the present invention, the operator does not have to care about the operation of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation apparatus while performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which allows the operator pay more attention to taking care of a patient.

Abstract: A method for delivering/receiving content in a mobile communication system. A terminal sends a Content Delivery Repair Request message requiring repair of the content to a server, when reception of the content provided from the server is not normally carried out; and receives a Content Delivery Repair Response message from the server in response to the Content Delivery Repair Request message. The server receives a Content Delivery Repair Request message from the terminal, when reception of the content is not normally carried out at the terminal, and sends a Content Delivery Repair Response message in response to the Content Delivery Repair Request message.

Abstract: A method for ciphering MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) data in a wired/wireless communication system is provided. The MBMS service enables the same service or desired services to be provided to a number of users. In the ciphering method, a ciphering key for encoding MBMS data is previously provided to an authorized UE, and the authorized UE is informed of when MBMS data encoded using the ciphering key is to be transmitted, thereby preventing unauthorized UEs from illegally receiving the MBMS service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing an SG in a mobile broadcasting system are provided. The apparatus and method include a terminal for receiving a first SG, for acquiring reception information about a second SG from the first SG, if a service fragment list extracted from the first SG includes information about at least one second SG different from the first SG, and for receiving the second SG based on the acquired reception information.

Abstract: Disclosed is an uplink random access procedure in an NB-TDD (Narrow Band Time Division Duplexing) system. To achieve an acknowledgement for data transmission from a UTRAN (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network), a UE selects one of a plurality of sync codes by which the UTRAN identifies UEs that request data transmission and transmits the selected sync code in a time slot of a sub-frame to the UTRAN. Then, the UE receives the sync code information, information about the arrival time of the sync code, time update information indicating a variation in the transmission time of data, and power information indicating an adjustment to a power gain in the UE from the UTRAN on an FPACH (Fast Physical Access Channel). The UE transmits the data on a P-RACH (Physical Random Access Channel) mapped from the FPACH according to the time update information and the power information.

Abstract: A method for receiving a broadcast service through a plurality of terminals in a mobile broadcasting system supporting the broadcast service is provided. The method includes sending a registration request message for requesting registration of each of a plurality of terminals from a server associated with a broadcast service, receiving a registration response message from the server in response to each registration request message, sending a service request message to the server through one terminal of the plurality of terminals to request that the broadcast service be provided to the remaining terminals, and receiving, by the remaining terminals, a service response message from the server and the broadcast service.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for providing a MultiCast and BroadCast Service (MCBCS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system are provided. The method includes receiving a message comprising information relating to a broadcast channel which carries a service guide, from a Base Station (BS), receiving service guides relating to one or more service providers over the broadcast channel using the information, when the received service guides are fragmented service guides having a certain size, generating a unified service guide by reassembling the fragmented service guides and when one service provider is selected, filtering only a service guide of the selected service provider in the unified service guide and displaying the filtered service guide in a display. Thus, the channel transition time can be reduced.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for efficiently transmitting/receiving transmission power status information (TPS) and buffer state information (BO) of a user equipment (UE). Under the assumption that an enhanced uplink dedicated transport channel (EUDCH) is used for an uplink data transmission in an asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) system, a scheduler of a Node B performs a scheduling operation such as transmission timing of EUDCH packet data, data rate assignment, and the like. The scheduler receives the EUDCH packet data BO, TPS, and the like, and efficiently performs processes of start/continuation/end of the TPS transmission.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for configuring a message for controlling purchase service in wireless broadcasting. When a portable terminal directly uses a corresponding service through registration without a process for purchasing a charged broadcasting service, the portable terminal directly receives a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) User ServiceID, and it is impossible to separate a GlobalPurchaseItemID and a PurchaseDataID from each other. Therefore, a purchase service list can not be known. However, according to the method herein, it is possible to separate two identifiers from each other in the portable terminal, so that it is possible to conveniently control each list regarding various types of purchased services.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating a (n, 3) code and a (n, 4) code using simplex codes are disclosed. To encode a 3-bit information bit stream to a (n, 3) codeword with n code symbols, a simplex encoder generates a first-order Reed-Muller codeword with (P+1) code symbols from the input information bit stream for n>P, and punctures the first code symbol of the (P+1) first-order Reed-Muller code symbols to produce a (P, 3) simplex codeword. An interleaver permutates the P code symbols of the (P, 3) simplex codeword by columns according to a predetermined pattern. A repeater repeats the column-permutated (P, 3) simplex codeword until the number of repeated codes is n and outputs a (n, 3) codeword with the n repeated code symbols.

Abstract: A paging method for an MBMS service is provided. To efficiently transmit MBMS control information in an MBMS mobile communication system, an RNC transmits to a Node B a control message including a list of NI information for MBMS paging groups by the RNC and the Node B establishes a physical channel according to the control message and transmits an MICH including NIs to UEs on the established physical channel.

Abstract: A notification method for informing a UE of an existence or absence of control information for an MBMS in a mobile communication system supporting the MBMS. In the method, the UE receives a notification indicator channel independently reporting the existence of the control information for the MBMS, confirms at least one notification indicator of the notification indicator channel, thereby confirming the existence of the control information relating to the requested MBMS. Further, a method is proposed, which can minimize an alarm due to other MBMSs.

Abstract: A method for mapping first coded TFCI symbols and second coded TFCI symbols to a radio frame in a transmission apparatus of a mobile communication system for encoding k first TFCI bits and (10?k) second TFCI bits, a sum of the first coded TFCI symbols and the second coded TFCI symbols being 32. The method comprises multiplexing the coded symbols such that the first coded TFCI symbols and the second coded TFCI symbols are uniformly distributed according to a transmission mode and a data rate of the radio frame, and outputting 32 coded symbols; and mapping the 32 multiplexed coded symbols to the radio frame to satisfy the number of the coded symbols that can be mapped to one radio frame, determined according to the transmission mode and the data rate of the radio frame.
