  • Publication number: 20190100495
Abstract: The compounds herein disclosed are N-substituted tetrahydroisoquinoline ethylbenzamide compounds that have modifications on the phenyl rings by introducing groups with various electronic properties. These derivatives of N-substituted tetrahydroisoquinoline ethylbenzamide compounds have been shown to have anti-proliferative activity against cells. In particular, the compounds have been found to be effective in inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells, such as cancer cells that originated in breast tissue. Additionally, it has been shown that the novel compounds have IC50 values against the breast cancer cells that are 6- to 10-fold less than the IC50 of Tamoxifen.

  • Publication number: 20190056934
Abstract: Techniques for providing high-performance buffer caches for transactional input/output (I/O) systems are disclosed. The techniques include obtaining a first logical creation time of a resource to be acquired by the first transaction during a pre-commit phase of a first transaction with an I/O system. When the first logical creation time exceeds a latest logical creation time from a set of resources previously acquired by the first transaction, the first logical creation time of the resource is compared with an earliest logical termination time from the set of resources. When the first logical creation time of the resource exceeds the earliest logical termination time from the set of resources, a conflict between the resource and the set of resources is detected, and a restart of the first transaction is triggered.

  • Patent number: 10212072
Abstract: In general, embodiments of the invention relate to a method and system for enabling a peer state synchronization mechanism for dynamic network address translation (DNAT). More specifically, at least two network elements may be permitted to mount each other's DNAT tables, thereby providing redundancy for the implementation of DNATs in case of the failover of one of the network elements. The failed network element may then re-initialize while the functional network element continues to process packets, including packets that have been redirected to the functional network element post-failure of the failed network element. Upon completing re-initialization, the once failed network element recovers its DNAT table from the functional network element and proceeds to process packets normally.

  • Publication number: 20190053124
Abstract: A wireless access point enables or rejects a wireless connection request from a mobile device based on a round trip time (RTT) measurement and an angle of arrival (AoA) measurement for signals from the mobile device. After receiving a wireless connection request from the mobile device, the wireless access point obtains the RTT and the AoA measurements for the mobile device. The wireless access point determines if the RTT and the AoA measurements for the mobile device are within predefined RTT and AoA ranges that define a physical boundary with respect to the wireless access point. The wireless connection is accepted if the RTT and AOA measurements are within the predefined RTT and AoA ranges and are otherwise rejected. If desired, a plurality of physical boundaries may be used, each with different predefined RTT and AoA ranges, and each physical boundary may have a different predefined time limit range.

  • Publication number: 20190045062
Abstract: A call is setup between an originating device (A) and a terminating device (B), which both have access to a public land mobile network (131, 132) and a mobile data network (121, 122). The originating and terminating devices device (A; B) include a respective software-implemented call handling tool (SWA; SWB) configured to assist a user in placing and receiving calls. Bridge nodes (140) are connected to the mobile data network (121, 122), the public land mobile network (131, 132) and a server node (110), which also is connected to the mobile data network (121, 122). In response to a call-setup command from a user of the originating device (A), the software-implemented call handling tool (SWA), on one hand, sends a call-setup request (1) to the server node (110); and on the other hand, makes a first call (2) to a first bridge node (140) over the public land mobile network (131) using a first telephone number (#1).

  • Publication number: 20190041457
Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for determining health of a web application. The method includes receiving data for parameters related to exceptions, network anomalies, resource performance, and user experience, associated with devices and servers in the IT environment. A score is determined for the parameters and compared in a multiple-rating scale to obtain parameter ratings for the parameters. A final rating for the exceptions, network anomalies, resource performance, and user experience are determined based on the parameter ratings. The determined final ratings are used for automatically generating an application health index. The application health index provides an accurate and near real-time indication of the health of an application by considering various parameters for each network node in the IT environment.

  • Publication number: 20190036722
Abstract: This disclosure provides a system of intelligent lights together with control devices and sensors communicating over a wireless network, with methods to allow the lights to take actions based on logical combinations of events generated by other devices. The lights can function autonomously as they have built-in functions of logic processing, storage and wireless communications which allow them to receive events and take actions according to the stored logic configuration data. Complete freedom in the grouping of lights as well as association of control devices and sensors to each individual lights is enabled by this system architecture. Seamless communication coverage is enabled by a wireless protocol that allows the light to form a mesh network.
